For Windows:

Left-upper icon-->System Preferences-->Displays-->Mirror displays. Then your HDMI monitor would mirror your Mac. However here you have two choices. One is "Optimize For" your built-in Retina Display, the other is "Optimize For" your HDMI monitor. You can choose which one you like.

I just purchased a 10th gen ipad, which has a usb-c 2.0 port. I purchased this cable hoping that the tablet and this cable would support sending AV image and audio to an hdmi port. I knew this is possible with recent gen pricier ipad Air and Pro but Apple doesn't address the ipad 10th gen in its promotional literature. Bottom line: it works with this cable, and possibly other usb-c to hdmi cables, but I've only tested this one.I watched a YouTube review that says the usb-c port on this tablet supports av-out. The YouTube reviewer identified this comapny as the manufacturer of the cable but not the specific model of the cable.I connected the tablet to a y 32" computer monitor. No driver needed, it just worked. The monitor is 4k but the image is probably 1080p, though I don't know how to test that.The monitor (like nearly all monitors these days) has a 16:9 aspect ratio and ipad screens are 4:3 aspect ratio. The image on the monitor has bands of white to the right and left sides of the image. I didn't have nstall a driver, and I don't know if or how to stretch the image to take fulll advantage of the 16:9 screen. If you connect to a television with hdmi port, there might be ways in the TV's settings to manipulate the image coming over the cable, but of course, that won't be a true mirror image.I also haven't dived into ipados 17 to explore whether the external monitor cuold be used as a second screen instead of a mirror image.I'm legally blind and am interested primarily in solutions to overcome the smallish (10.9") screen of the ipad. I do have a projector with hdmi input that support a 4:3 aspect ratio and might experiment with connecting the tablet to the projector.If some tech-savvy reader has further insight into cable brands or configuration options, feel free to comment.

I recently purchased 2 identical Samsung monitors to use with my MacBook Pro. I was using older cables, and the color quality of one monitor looked different than the other. After receiving these today, both monitors look great! Vibrant colors and crisp video.

I honestly don’t know why this is Amazon’s recommendation for a hdmi to usb c because it sucks. I have grown so tired of the flickering and having to adjust the cable in a certain position for my monitor to find the signal. I haven’t had this problem with other hdmi cables before especially since I bought it less than two months ago, the durability is just not great.

Ich arbeite auf einem 14 Zoll MacBook Pro mit M1 Pro an dem zum Arbeiten ein LG 5k Ultrafine Display angeschlossen ist. Ich wollte gleichzeitig auch Filmdateien mit Surround Sound auf meinem 4k Sony TV wiedergeben. Mit diesem Kabel funktioniert das mit 60 fps sehr gut. Ich hatte auch ein leicht günstigeres Kabel zum Testen bestellt, mit dem ich aber nur 30 fps und auch nur Stereo hinbekommen habe. Mit derselben Konfiguration erhalte ich bei diesem Kabel 60 fps und Surround Sound. Kabel machen definitiv einen Unterschied und dieses funktioniert sehr gut.

Very happy with this cable, it worked straight away with my Samsung Note 8. You must check your device's capabilities to see if this type of cable is supported. Not all devices support it. It will help with old TV that do not have screen sharing, so I can plug it on the HDMI port and mirror the phone on the screen. Affordable and good. Dave the Boss 💪🏽

Nice quality cable - Just doesn't work with my phone - connection drops out and the tv reports that the resolution is not in range after about 20 seconds of working. This seems to be a common issue with oneplus phones on the software side of things: therefore my rating is for the quality of the cable itself. I've had to try quite a few cables to find something semi-reliable and thought I'd try one more time - this was not a successful time unfortunately. If you know of one that works great, let me know with a reply!

I have a Samsung Note 9. Although I have Chromecast on my smartTV, the Oculus Quest can only use Chromecast Gen 3 or Chromecast Ultra, and Chromecast cannot be built-in within the TV (you need the dongle thingy).First, the cable would not stay connected. I had to stand with the phone in my hand pushing the cable into my phone at just the right angle, or else there was a popup that said, "HDMI not connected." So that was no fun.When you plug in your phone, you get a notification at the top (swipe down on the phone) that says DeX has been activated. When you click on it, your phone goes to black with a four-square grid, and you see a version of your phone screen on the TV. You have to run your finger across this black-screen grid and you will see the cursor move on your TV screen.Anyway, using this grid-technique on the phone while keeping my eyes on the TV screen, I opened the Oculus app and clicked on the screen-casting icon. A very tiny image appears in the middle of my TV screen which does in fact show what is going on in the Oculus Quest. So I was able to watch my husband play BoxVR and Racket Fury. However, the image on the TV is so tiny that it just wasn't worth it. I have a 65" TV and the Oculus Quest image was maybe 8"x8". There is an icon to make the tiny screen larger, but when you click on it, it restarts the Oculus app and brings you to the Oculus Home screen, not the casting. Clicking again on the screen casting screen does nothing.I have no other reason to use this cable so into the Goodwill box it goes.

I used this cable to hook up my iMac to a TV to watch Optus Sports online and it was great....good picture, easy setup and it worked well for the money.

I am happy to have researched this to interface the new macbook pro (w/ four Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports) with my LCD monitor via HDMI more directly than through one of those USB hubs. The cable does not heat up and adequately transmits to my LCD monitor. The only personal observation I will share about this is that for some reason, it only works with 3 out of the 4 thunderbolt3/USB-C ports on my macbook. It consistently does not pick up any video from one particular port on my laptop. Neither apple reps nor I understand why, but it was a sure sigh of relief to know it was not an issue with any of my macbook ports, ALL of which I afterwards tested (for video and USB Drive/data transfer) in an apple store. Upon being assured of no faulty hardware / ports on my macbook, I continue gladly use this cable for my desk monitor.
