For clarity, i’ve only tried this on, and really tried to make it work, but I’m sending it back, without using it further, so I have no comment about the bladder etcWe’ll start with the goodThe pack is mostly boxy, and thus I can fit the belowOvertrousersRain jacketCameraLensAnd room for a little more. Wearing the pack carrying this, it felt comfortable. It’s a great pack so far. It’s just big enough to carry what you need. It doesn’t have a lot of depth, so nothing falls away from you like in bags that need compression straps. Perfect for a summer bagUsing the single mesh pocket on the side, it’ll fit a 380ml bottle. The mesh pocket on the pack will easily hold gloves, a hat, and whatever else you need that is relatively smallAnd now, the terrible. The front straps. I’ve had a few of these packs with vest style running straps with front pockets, and these are by far the worst I’ve ever encounteredWhen empty, they’re fine. They fit comfortable, they don’t look ridiculous. Then you try and use them….. It’s so sad they’re this bad, when compared to the rest of the pack.Because the pockets are not mesh, and the openings are not expandable, when using anything other than something very flat and the size of the pocket, they’re useless.I put a 380ml bottle in one, and a camera lens in the other, and the pockets just become round. The chest straps lift a couple of inches off the chest, and the pockets look like they’re peeling away from the body. Trying to get them to fit and sit properly using the chest straps or the straps under arm, doesn’t work. It just looks cheap, and often feels uncomfortable as the bottle and lens push into the body whilst at the same time trying to peel away from the bodyAll the other packs that had vest style running straps from other brands I’ve had, had mesh pockets, and it was the mesh that expanded whilst the strap still sat against the body, rather than the pocket expanded. If Camelbak had used mesh pockets here on the front straps, i’d be out hiking with this pack right now. Using mesh gives the use the option how to use them, rather than being limited by the designerSuch a shame! Camelbak have gotten closer than any other brand to getting these packs with vest style running straps right.

This bag is awesome! I use it currently for day hiking, but down the road I want to get into backpacking and this expands quite a bit which should be enough space for a basic setup up for a warm weather backpacking trip. For day hiking I like that it can be righted down really well, so that it hugs against my back really well.

I really like this pack. I’ve gone through several and this is my favorite! Big enough to pack for a hike for the whole family + dogs, but not too heavy. Also perfect for just me when I want to hike and bring a journal or my iPad with me. I really like the side zipper access and large front pocket for my phone.

Bin begeistert.

This hydration pack is a great balance of water, pack room and small item accessibility. Loops for trekking poles, front pockets for cell phone (iPhone 12 fits snugly thanks to elastic edge, a larger ‘phone could fit) and extra water bottles. Zip pocket for ID, keys and change. Large mesh pocket for quick stow of jacket or hat. Comes with a safety whistle; add a carabiner to hook on a signal mirror. Camelbak bladder very easy to fill and clean with a large mouth. Bite tube prevents leaks. Rides high via chest straps, reducing stress on back and hips, mesh back feels light and stays (relatively) cool. “Female” version is also great, the difference is that it rides a bit higher and the straps are more optimally placed for the female form: (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HJWPCN1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). For a bigger pack for the group leader or parent (add a thicker jacket, a sit-upon blanket, lunch for the kids, etc, I like this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VXD1TH6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1).I like these water bottles: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RYLB9F2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_14?smid=A3VNAINMXR3S58&psc=1).Great trekking poles: https://www.amazon.com/LEKI-Khumbu-Lite-AS-100-135/dp/B09RX15LV2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1PNB5ABV52KPQ&keywords=Leki+khumbu&qid=1677701027&sprefix=leki+khumbu%2Caps%2C223&sr=8-1 (however just a bit too big to fit in most suitcases, for air travel to your trekking destination, these are super: https://www.amazon.com/LEKI-Micro-Vario-COR-TEC-Pole/dp/B07MVDTNCM ).A nice extra is a tube guide (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M66ZZLO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1), and clip for a GoPro or a DJI Osmo (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M66ZZLO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
