Bought this to help break the ice in water troughs, not the usual reason, I know. It actually worked well for my purpose.

Great ice ax. I've had mine for 2 years and it's still going strong. The paint on the adze/pick has worn off but the metal hasn't rusted or dulled. The included leash is handy to have and easily removable if you want to tie into your harness instead.

I have not used it yet but it feels sturdy - even though it was very light weight. The wrist strap is sturdy too. I am looking forward to using this on my winter expeditions.Seller shipped it very quickly

Very nice basic mountaineering axe. It is very light (not superlight) but feels substantial. The design is very similar to my Black Diamond Raven. The bonus is a small slider leash. Haven't used it yet but expect to like it just as much as the BD Raven. Mountain Gear is a top-notch seller. Wish they would give free shipping via Amazon, just as they do if you buy directly from them.
