They worked fine for me. Oftentimes need to be re tightened during the climb which bothered me. Also the biggest knock for me was the little piece of steel in the back. My heels ended up over the top of the pieces, causing holes and alot of heel pain. Essentially the boot moves around alot in these and doesn't feel very fixed.

Fit great over snowboard boots (10.5 with size to spare) and hiking boots. Great AT snowboarding (with soft boot) crampons.
