Bought this for camping since we like to camp rustic a lot where there is no power or electricity. Gives off a lot of light and has a lot of power. Perfect for camping or for when lights go out or you lose power.

I don't know what the wind up arm is for because it doesn't do anything

This camping light is great. It's small enough you can put it in your hand and walk around but puts out enough light that everything is lit up quite brightly. You can charge your phone with it too if you need to.I use this as a flashlight quite often now. I always have a hard time finding my flashlights but I always seem to be able to find this. There's nothing that I dislike about it. I'm very happy.

I like this light, but I'm having a bit of a hard time justifying $30 for it. This feels like more of a White Elephant-kind of gift.I like the 3-mode light memory, dimming adjustability (stepless and 10-step) and color temp selections of the LED lamps - very nice. The stepless function adjusts way too fast and seems unnecessary compared to the 10-step button press option. The light has a 6400mAh Li-ION battery inside. All Li-ION batteries will self-discharge over time, meaning you should expect to have to maintain this device (recharge the battery) every few months if you want the battery to last. If you allow the built-in battery to self-discharge or fade to 0V, it will be chemically damaged and may start to swell and fail to charge again - so don't think you'll get away with just "throwing this in your emergency kit until you need it" and then expect it to work just fine 3 years from now when your power goes out. Li-ION batteries need periodic maintenance and do not like to stay plugged into a charger 100% of the time, and they don't tolerate recovery when they reach 0V and chemically degrade. The hand crank works but seems outdated and gimmicky - because there are backup batteries everywhere, and the idea that anyone would "prefer" to crank this for 3 minutes to get 5 minutes of light (at max brightness) seems a bit flimsy. Even so, the capability is there, and there are definitely some corner cases where the hand crank functionality might be welcomed. The light doesn't support any flavor of USB power delivery - either in or out. It's basically only a "dumb" USB charger, meaning you'll get no more than 3A max out of the Type-A or Type-C port. Still, 15W isn't terrible, but it's going to take a while to push that 6400mAh battery into your cell phone. Additionally, if you had any thoughts about using the hand crank to charge your phone, think again:If the LEDs will work for 7 hours at maximum brightness when the battery is fully charged, and the LEDs will work for 5 minutes when hand cranked for 3 minutes, that means that it would take about ~4.2 hours of hand cranking to fully charge the built-in battery:((7 hours x 60 min per hour) / 5 minutes of light) * 3 minutes of hand cranking = 252 minutes (or 4.2 hours) of hand cranking to charge the battery to "full", or about 25mAh of charge generated every 3 minutes. Woof! Happy cranking! My last concern relates to end-of-life and recyclability. This device is sealed shut, greatly complicating recyclability and removal of that 6400mAh battery when it reaches end of life. Electronics should be easy to recycle (especially ones with built-in batteries), and this is just yet another Chinese electronics atrocity that will end up whole in a landfill, battery & all. I would have liked to have been able to disassemble the device is recycle it properly when the time comes, but it's clearly not designed to take apart.

This is basically a rechargeable battery with a light on it. It does the same thing a rechargeable battery would do; if your phone battery is low, this will charge it. Also, the light on it takes up the whole side, and it's honestly pretty bright. However, I feel like the emergency crank in this was absolutely useless. I have cranked and cranked and I don't feel like this thing charges by crank at all. The reason why I'm not knocking this a star, is because they were pretty blunt with it, 'yeah, go ahead and charge it for your best option' (obviously in my own words). I think that if I was in a storm and without power, and in a seriously dire situation, I'd probably be glad that I had it to crank for probably an hour to get a phone charge, because I mean, at least you have a chance with this, as opposed to a regular battery. But there's probably better suited products out there. Can I recommend this for what it's for? Probably not. However, there's no fault of the product. They were open with it.

The Camping Lantern,6400mAh LED Lantern Rechargeable came into good use when we were out of power for 33 hours when a neighbor's huge oak crushed the power lines on both sides of the street. I was surprised at how bright it is. We had given it a full charge and it lasted thru our entire emergency. It was really a nice supplement to our other lanterns. It charges easily via usb. It's simple to use my 5 year-old granddaughter used it to move thru the house and her room in the dark.I tried charging it with the handle at the end and I think it best to use this option as an emergency as my arm got tired. The lantern doubles as a power bank too, with both USB-C and USB-A ports. You can charge your phone in an emergency. There are several light modes Cold white, natural white, warm white, SOS mode, simply press the power button to adjust the mode you want.A great item to have for emergencies or while camping, hiking or other outdoor activities.

If the world goes completely turtle, I'll be happy that I have a hand crank for this light (assuming it doesn't snap off). With the 6400mAh battery, I can use it as an emergency phone charger, than plug it back in/crank it to recharge. I appreciate that this was designed to have multiple brightness and supposedly limitless brightness levels, but it's too much for a emergency/hiking lamp. The last thing I'm doing in an emergency is looking for the manual. Overall, it's a good light for having in your kit or car. Just make sure you're charging/cranking it every couple of months.
