This tripod is well constructed, and easy to store. I love how you can have something hanging from the chain and be able to easily adjust the length of the chain. Seems durable; will last a long time.

My husband is an Eagle Scout and he likes to show me survivalism tips and tricks when we go camping. Sometimes we really rough it and build our own campfires, cook all our own food, etc. So I got this Camping Tripod to set up over our campfires so we can hang a pot to cook soup or even a kettle for hot water. It comes in a 3” x 13” bag that’s easy to take with us in our backpacks. There are three legs (of course, because it is a tripod), and each leg is composed of three 10.5” segments that easily twist together (no tools needed) to create the 31.5” total leg length. Those three legs then screw into a top cap at an angle so the base of the tripod is wide. The legs are slender and lightweight (for ease of carrying in a backpack), but they are made of high-strength aluminum alloy, so they are strong enough for their stated purpose.A 21” long chain is suspended from the cap with a hook at the bottom for hanging things (like pots). A pin can slide through the chain at any link to adjust the chain length, thus lifting the pot further up over the fire. The tripod can hold up to 10 pounds of weight! For reference, a single can of soup, typically 15 oz, barely weighs 1 pound! We have found this to be a simple item to bring with us camping, even when we are being minimalists, that makes a big difference in our daily camping lives. Almost every meal requires something heated up over the fire. And it’s a great way to boil questionable water to ensure it is safe to drink. Plus, it’s rather cool to look at! It’s easy to set up, it’s easy to adjust, and it’s easy to use. We highly recommend this as an essential item to include in your camping pack.
