When installed it doesn’t sit flush with the block so the crank pulley will rub on it. Might just be mine but it is unusable, the part seems to be quality though mine just doesn’t fit properlyUpdate:The company reached out to me and sent me another one without question to make it right. Great customer service and product, I just got an off one I think. Buy with confidence!

This is a great idea. It is designed to protect the front main seal of BMW N52 engines (mine is 2010 328i) in the event the serpentine belt breaks. This was a design flaw by BMW. When this happens, little shards of the belt get pinched between the vibration damper and the main seal and get forced into the oil pan. If enough material gets into the oil pan, the oil pickup tube becomes clogged, oil pressure goes to zero, the engine seizes, and the engine is essentially shot (requires major repair work that often costs more than the car is worth). All of this happens without the owner necessarily knowing it has happened. The problem, which can be seen in the attached pictures, is that the thickness of the bolting surface (circled in blue above) is too thick which causes the bolt head to scrape against the inside of the vibration damper. When I put the vibration damper on, I could barely hand crank with a breaker bar and this is why. The vibration damper was scored. I had to grind the bolt heads down so that the vibration damper could rotate freely. I think my modified version of this will work. Hope this helps someone.
