This lens is fantastic. It's 16mm-29mm equiv on the crop sensor. High quality on all focal lengths.I use it for real estate photography and it's my go to lens. It would also be great for landscapes, and I use it for vlogs as well. The autofocus is quick, it's light and well made. Solid construction even with it being plastic which helps keep the weight down.A must have for any aps-c camera bag.

I was looking for a wide-angle lens for real estate for my canon t3i and this one worked perfectly. I bought mine used, in great condition and that's exactly what it is! What a huge difference having a wide angle can make to your real estate photos, totally worth the money!

Love this lens. I use it for video and it works great. Might have a tiny dish eye effect, but only if you look closely and only at the edges. Just want to throw that out there because if you’re are a perfectionist this isn’t your lens.

I'm really a beginner so take my word with a grain of salt here but for as much as i've been using this lensit has completely amazed me, the pictures contain so much detail and the auto-focus is really quickIt sort of have become my main lens (i have 3 more) because it just captures everything you want in that frame

I've been wanting a wide angle lens for most of my life. I am not disappointed. I have not gotten to play with it much yet, but as you can see from the photo I took of the house the quality is excellent. I was standing only about 70 feet from the house and it had this awesome field of view.

I bought this to fill a small niche in my photography that my trusty 24-135 never filled to my satisfaction: landscape and interior sport stadiums. I'll admit that I haven't had a chance to shoot a lot of either yet, but the few test shots I have taken have been stellar. Pictures are clear edge to edge, even for wide open. There's noticeable vignetting, but nothing that the camera won't compensate for (if shooting jpeg) or that I can't adjust for in Lightroom (when shooting raw). It seems pretty sturdy, but is surprisingly light, feeling more comparable in heft to an 18-55 kit lens than something like an L-Series piece of glass, though that is expected at this price point. I can say that it does NOT feel cheap, though (something that I can't say for the 18-55 kit lenses). Taken care of, I can bet it will outlive a number of camera bodies that I'm likely to use it on over the years. There are countless reviews online that go into depth on a lot of the technical aspects of the lens, so I'll leave you with this: I'm glad I bought it and am kicking myself for waiting as long as I did to purchase it.

Came early, the inside packaging had me worried, it was wrapped odd. But tje lens was good and its exactly what ive been looking for to take landscape pictures with. I recomend it to any one looking for wide angle photography, but not in bad lighting conditions.

So having recently bought a 7d mk2 I suddenly had a need for a very wide angle lens, being used to full frame. This little EF-S lens is all plastic, made in Taiwan, comes with no hood or pouch and is not fast at f/4.5 - f/5.6. That said, it is very light, affordable has IS and STM. More importantly it takes very good quality images. I got mine for £179 from Amazon and at that price this lens is fantastic value.Of course is it not so great in low light, but for still life the IS helps a lot with that. The focus is near instant on this focal length and for video work on the 7d mk2 this is as easy as point and shoot, like a camcorder.16mm equivalent is very wide and takes dramatic looking pictures. Background blur is limited again mainly due to the focal length, so the aperture is not such a drawback from that point of view. The lens is so light and compact I often carry it in my jacket pocket in case I need it. Being inexpensive also makes doing that sort of thing less worrying.Images are sharp and of high quality. I own several L lenses and really you do have to be looking closely or in certain circumstances to really see a huge difference. For most people and most pictures, this lens is more than good enough quality. In good light the images are excellent.Yes it is plastic and it is not made in Japan. There are not many other options for canon 1.6x crop bodies though, and none really worth considering at this price. Overall this is a great little lens.
