If you have a passion for photography, the Canon Rebel SL1 is an amazing choice. For me, it nothing more than a hobby, but I can definitely appreciate the amazing pictures this camera takes. It is lightweight - much lighter than you would expect when you see the size. It does not have a flip out screen and that is a huge plus for me. Easy enough for a beginner to use on the automatic settings. I have owned many cameras and the Canon Rebel has always been a dream.. This was a gift from my son and I have to admit, the boy has good taste!

After a lot of research I finally decided to get this camera over the others because I know too many people with nice cameras who hate carrying them with them so they don't. I have now taken this camera with me on two trips one to Disney world and one to Norway and I have to say I love it. The one con that I can see as I get into more advanced photography is that a lot of the settings are only accessible through the menus so that could get annoying. I am finding it fast enough for pictures of people and pets and great fort landscape photography when hiking. I would definitely recommend this camera if it's your first DSLR and portability are important to you. Also the 18 mega pixels are huge and allow a lot of cropping in editing software such as Adobe Lightroom.

This camera is great. Refurbished was a great buy. Shipping was fast. AMZL showed up hours before USPS or UPS. Indeed, the worlds smallest SLR. Great light weight design. High definition viewing screen. All the great options Canon has to offer. Very happy with my new camera.

I had an issue with my camera, one that the "refurbishment" process should have caught. As such, I am returning it. I contacted Canon and all refurbs bought through Canon's website come with a 1 year warranty. These "Certified Refurbished" from Amazon come with a "minimum 90 day warranty" but nowhere does it tell you what the warranty length actually is, so assume it's always 90 days to be safe.
