    • Wireless printing requires a working Ethernet network with wireless 802.11b/g or n capability. Wireless performance may vary based on terrain and distance between the printer and wireless network clients.
    • Printer firmware update may be necessary for AirPrint function. Certain exceptions may apply. A PC running Windows XP or later or A Mac running OS 10.5.8 or later and USB cable required to perform firmware update. AirPrint functionality requires an iPad, iPhone 3GS or later, or iPod touch 3rd generation or later device running iOS 4.2 or later, and an AirPrint-enabled printer connected to the same network as your iOS device. A printer connected to the USB port of your Mac, PC, AirPort Base station, or Time Capsule is not supported.
    • Resolution may vary based on printer driver setting. Color ink droplets can be placed with a horizontal pitch of 1/4800 inch at minimum.

    This newly purchased printer has surprised me! It only cost me about $10.00 more than its predecessor, my Canon Pixma MP 190, yet has so many great new features! I have not had time to fully discover all that this little gem will do for me. I used the MP 190 for years. Even during hard economic times when I had to cut back on everything, that older Canon still did a great job even with recycled ink cartridges.I use this printer to mostly for letters and articles downloaded on the internet. It is also great to print patterns for my knitting and sewing hobbies, so I can save those in notebooks, for quick reference.Before the Canon MP 190, we used an elderly but good Epson, that finally just expired from excessive use and age. This is my second Canon printer. I am always surprised by that printers can do. I have heard that the printer is the least complicated., least sophisticated component of one's home system. That fact is surprising in light of all the work that the device performs with so few problems.Any one in the market for a home office printer should take a serious look at this model of Canon printer for several reasons: great reasonable price, ease of installation and use, and amazing versatility. Since this helper arrived on my home desk, I have not found anything about it that I dislike. I need some time to discover all the good jobs it can and will perform for me. And I really appreciate the feature that prints on both sides of the paper so quickly! What a great idea!

    After reading the reviews, I expected the printer to be noisy. I didn't find that it was that noisy. I have to say that my old printer that finally went south after 13 years was a Canon BJ-3000. Now, that is a noisy printer with a longer aleignment time before it starts printing. Once again. comparing this printer to the BJ-3000, this printer is lightning fast and the print quality is as good as it gets.We have 1 pc (non wifi) and 2 laptops (with wifi) along with 2 printers and 2 scanners. One of the laptops was never used for printing or scanning but with the new MG3220 it is no longer an orphan.As far as the ink replacement goes, I always had to replace ink cartridges for 2 different brands of printers. Now I only have the one printer to replace cartridges and to me that is a plus.The setup was pretty easy. It took about 10 seconds for the printer to shake hands with the router using the WPS feature and the setup disk loaded with no problems.I guess I would have been happy with other brands of wireless printer, copy and scan models but I picked this model for several reasons:1. My old printer was a Canon and lasted 13 years of average home use. So, I went with the longevity factor.If this printer lasts half that long, I will be very happy.2. The cost. I thought this was the best value for the features of this printer.3. The 2 sided print feature. I have a few projects that require 2 sided copies. Granted, I won't be using it that much but I have used it already and it is a time saver and unlike me it gets it right every time. This feature is only available in higher end models.4. The FINE inkjet nozzle print technology. I haven't seen any other company say they developed a better print head lately. So, I put this on the plus side for getting this model.5. The easy to use copy/scan, color/bw, paper size control option buttons on the top of the printer. For me, it just seems a lot easier than scrolling around a little lcd screen trying to find the right option for what you want the printer to do.6. The auto edge finder for the scaner. It would take a long time for my old scaner to scan anything. It just thought everything you put in the scaner was 11'x17' This scaner will see the edge of a 4"x6" and stop the scan and start printing. A real time saver for me.Please keep in mind that my review is based on the difference between a 13 year old printer with 2 buttons on it and a scaner that is 10 years old that took forever to scan anything.I truley feel that I have moved into the 21st century with this MG3220 and I can't see the technology getting too much better in the next 13 years. We will see.Bottom line.......If you are looking for a printer.copier,scaner with WIFI and some pretty good features and low on price I would recomend the MG3220.

    SETUP:Pretty much basic for a printer. Although Windows 7 didn't have drivers for the printer, the CD included did.Connection to the PC was uneventful. There is a USB cable provided but you can connect via WiFI.PROS:SMALL FOOTPRINT/size for a printer + scanner:This is a good choice if you don't want a huge printer taking up a lot of desk space. It is about the same size as my previous printer BUT it includes a scanner.DUPLEX PRINTING:-(aka double sided) printing. - for things such as archived TAX RETURNS.PRINT QUALITY:It has very good photo and document print quality. Don't forget to ALIGN the print heads!INK CARTRIDGES:When you replace the cartridge, you also replace the -heads- so the print quality doesn't deteriorate from extended use or time.There are only two (1-black and 1-color)cartridges so you aren't having to replace a a single cartridge as often.SIMPLE CONTROL PANEL:Easy to use control panel without multiple menus to complicate what should be a simple job.CONS:INK CARTRIDGES:(YES-PRO & CON) When you replace the cartridge, you also replace the -heads-. So you will pay MORE for ink cartridges. You may have to replace a color cartridge before all the colors are out.SOFTWARE:The software that is included is pretty much useless. What I like to do when printing pictures is print four pictures on a standard 8 1/2" x 11" sheet. (for obvious reasons - printing on separate 4" x 6" will cost you much more) The software provided, My Image Garden) does not allow this.However, other Canon software does. The product is EASYPHOTOPRINT and it works with this printer.OVERALL:If you want a small footprint printer/scanner this might fit your needs.This has an easy to use control panel for offline use but if you want a color LCD screen this is not the printer for you.INK USAGE:I am very disappointed by the ink use. Having used the printer for a while I can report that after printing exactly -10- 81/2x11 sheets of photos, the color ink ran out!I don't know how much more ink is in the XL cartridges or how much longer they last but the cost per page is very expensive at that rate.UPDATE: After installing a NEW ink cartridge I found that the one shipped with the printer was lacking in ink quantity. AND - there are now re-ink kits available should you choose to use them.
