This paper literally repels pastel pencils. Charcoal isn't good, either. I guess you could use graphite (last in the photo of 3 examples), but I don't like the way that applies either, like trying to draw on an ice cube. The graphite did spread out well. Charcoal and pastel pencils don't do anything well. On the pastel pencils, the left half is 7 exhausting layers, and the right half is 3. I felt sorry for my pencils, seriously. I felt bad trying to make them go on that stuff. Everything you do in pastel pencils (I tested Derwent and Pitt) will look and feel like stucco siding.I do think it's exceptionally good for cleaning off stumps.
