they are plastic not rubber. they don't flex much so need to make sure hole is really close. they work for furniture but not automotive. it doesent specify material but it should.

I bought this product to replace a factory body plug that was missing in the trunk area of my car. The plug was pushed down from the top of the trunk (as opposed to being pushed up from the bottom of the car) and was concave on top. These plugs are not exactly like that. These are raised on top. It does not affect anything in the trunk of my car but may change something about your individual application.The plug is good quality rubber/plastic. It is flexible and creates a good seal.
