These HEITAOA brand “Car Door Handle for Elderly” with included support handle are a great buy for small to medium-large people with an upper range of “400-450” pound people. There are similar products with higher stated weight limits if needed but I’m about 265 and wanting an assist handle for when my father rides with me and he’s a bigger guy, but I feel safe with the idea of him using any of these items. I had some concern over the composite material buckle on the grab-handle and considered replacing it with a climbing rated carabiner but I think I’d trust it as-is for a few years if kept in a garaged vehicle away from UV light and extreme temps. Each item is comfortable to grip and all feel reliable. To me the seat belt cutter seems gimmicky, but maybe it’s just that I’ve never had the need for one and can’t imagine well enough; they’re at least covered and fairly guarded so they don’t detract from the items at all and I’m sure they would work fine for their purpose.
The foam-like grips are well sized and comfortable to grip and I think will perform just fine in the rain. I do think over an extended time with frequent use these may get kind of dirty just from natural oils, but there can be other surprises with elder or patient transport and they may be more challenging to clean, however I think that’s a timeline of years for most people.
These are very reasonably priced for what all you get and how well it all functions. I forgot the metal part of these only contacts the exposed metal of the door latch receiver with no possibility of contacting any painted surfaces, and with several tests even that metal shows no sign of their use. I think the additional handle could be very beneficial for a variety of ailments and requires much less of a reach and less awkward angle than using the vehicle grab handles for those with limited arm range or mobility.
I tried a couple types of this product and this is the set I most prefer and is also the best value imo.

1: Why do we want it? Support for seniors getting into the car and a handhold for our taller rigs.2: Unboxing: Comes in a plastic bag.3: Instructions: None.4: Install: Hook the hand bar into the u bolt on the side of the car door. The strap goes around the window top frame. 30 seconds.5: In Action: This is a great solution for a mini grab bar for either a senior or for us working on our tall 4WD.Pros: Soft grip, strong.Cons: Not a fan of putting our weight onto a plastic buckle holding the strap together. These are meant for belts etc and not for human weight. Won’t use for the senior.

My elderly mother LOVES this. She would have never said anything but I kept noticing how difficult it was for her to get out of my car. Problem solved! It is very easy for her to put in place herself. She's at the point that she doesn't want help as it makes her feel older than she is (84). I had my son really "wrench" on them to be sure there would be no slippage or breaking and they passed with no issues. It's the little things that make life easier and this is one of them. Very fair price.

As I have gotten older I have found my balance is not as good as it use to be and getting in and out of higher vehicles (our SUVs) has become more difficult. I ordered these door grippers to give me something to hang on to for more stability as I enter or exit the vehicle. The gripper is lightweight; the sponge sleeve handle fits my hand well, is comfortable and aids in keeping my hand from slipping off the handle; its well designed and inserts into my door latch easily; and, it really does provide me assistance. I, also, like that it fits into my door’s side storage compartment. I have not used the car assist handle, nor have I tried the seat belt cutting function, nor the window shattering function of the car door gripper, so I cannot speak to how functional they actually are. I am glad I ordered these auto door grippers.

These are nice door grips. The grip handle is substantial and easy to hold onto. The part that fits into the door frame does not wiggle around like some of the other brands so it is more stable to use. I love the multifunctionality. Eveyone needs a seat belt cutter and window breaker in their car so this touches all of those needs. One of my neighbors is getting ready to have knee surgery and we tried out the strap and the door handle on her car. She said it will be perfect!

Great help for seniors. I haven't found a good way to use the strap yet, but the door handles are perfect. There are not as many places to grip the frame of a car as you would think, especially if you are a senior. These add one more place to hold on to, to get steady when getting into a car. There doesn't seem to be as much need getting out, so not used much there. They fit unto the door latch and are as solid as your car frame :). For the price, they are a lifesaver in assisting older people in and out of the car.
