Worked for my 2008 Subaru Forester. Make sure to have valet mode/alarm mode disabled for programming on that car. I had to turn on and off ~15 times instead of the 10 that I had read online to enter programming mode.

*BUYER BEWARE*This fob came in a simple clear plastic bag, nothing else. There were not instructions, which it said there were going to be. The fob itself had no transmitter code on the inside, which is essential for programming it to your car. Therefore, this is completely useless.

Works great, a little tedious to program. Followed the instructions that were included, took us 4 or 5 times but finally was able to get it right. Please note, our car did not seem to be making the beeping noises to say when it was in program mode, not sure why but once we continued the process even though we did not hear the tones, we found it worked. So happy to have a working fob again!

This was a remote from remotesremotes.com, also sold here. Also doesn't work. As written in my review over there, I have a verified process to program the fobs and these also didn't work. Ironically, the fob has the EXACT same code as one of the ones I got from remotesremotes. That is just horrible! I don't want there to be another remote out there that can get into my car! These are cheap, insecure and they don't work.

Set up was easy they have tutorials online. Sometimes I have to hit the unlock button a couple times for it to unlock but besides that it works great

2 weeks later, it sometimes hesitates to lock doors. Likely fairly easy to fix, maybe a little lubricant.

Got my fob a few days ago for my 2007 Subaru Forester and immediately went to the website claiming to have the programming instructions. Spent a considerable amount of time trying to get my car to accept the car fob, trying to get the vehicle into programming mode. Eventually gave up frustrated and looked into going to a dealer to get it done. After being quoted almost $100 to program it I figured I'd give it another shake. This time I decided to go off of the owner's manual instructions and within 5 minutes I figured it out.Don't trust the info they give you on the website, it might be correct for some vehicles but just read your owner's manual and save yourself the hassle!Fob works for now, I've read some reviews that they don't last long so we'll see.

I wasted a lot of time trying to program this fob using the remotes remote dot com website's instructions. I found the correct instructions on another website, coincidently featuring a different vehicle. Here are instructions for 2006 Subaru Baja:NOTE: These instructions can seem very complicated but are actually very easy if you read the instructions and understand the process prior to starting! Do not worry if you do not do it correctly your first time you can repeat the process as many times as necessary.1. Depending on which style key/remote you have you will need to first pop the back over off with a bladed screwdriver (Separate Remote) or unscrew the back cover off with a small phillips screwdriver. (Remotehead Key)2. Locate the ID number on the inside of the remote(write it down). It will be an 8 digit number. If there are two rows use the one with NUMBERS only NO LETTERS.Separate Remote - This procedure will program your remote completely.Remotehead Key - THIS WILL ONLY PROGRAM THE REMOTE you will need to have the key cut and transponder programmed to your car at the dealer for it to start.3. Confirm all doors including the trunk are shut.4. Get in the DRIVER'S seat and close the door. (all doors shut) and immediately proceed to step 5.5. Turn the ignition from LOCK to ON (10) times you have 15 seconds to do this. The vehicle will respond with the lights flashing and an audible tone emitted. This is to confirm the vehicle is in programming mode. If you do not see the light or hear the noise get out of the vehicle and then start the process over.6. OPEN the CLOSE the DRIVER's side door the noise will continue now to confirm he vehicle is still in programming mode.7. Refer back to the 8 digit code. While you still hear the noise, on the DRIVER's side door panel press the LOCK button the number of times as the first digit. Once you have pressed it the correct number of times press UNLOCK to go to the next digit. Do this for all 8 digits. Once you finish all 8 digits PUSH THE UNLOCK BUTTON ONCE.For example if the code was: 12345678 (use your code this is for an example only)You would press LOCK once then UNLOCK...LOCK twice then UNLOCK...LOCK three times then UNLOCK and so on.8. YOU NOW MUST DO STEP 7 AGAIN. Enter the 8 digit code on the DRIVER'S side door. Once you enter the 8th digit you will hear a tone for 30 seconds.9. If you have any additional remotes to program you must repeat steps 5-8 for each additional remote. If you have no additional remotes proceed to step 10.10. REMOVE key. Programming is now complete.

This is actually the third time I have purchased this same key fob. In 2016 I purchased two for my 2006 Subaru Forester because both original key fobs had ceased to function, and the Subaru dealership wanted $350-$400 to replace them with OEM key fobs and program the new fobs. For $25 per fob I thought what do I have to lose trying these aftermarket fobs from Amazon. The replacement fobs have a door open and lock switch only. There is no red panic button similar to the original fob. I actually did not like that panic button. I never felt like I ever needed to use it, and I frequently set it off accidentally when my car keys were in my pocket turning on the alarm of my car parked in the garage. The programming instructions for the replacement fobs were a little confusing to follow, and there are many sequential steps involved in getting each fob programmed. It took me about four tries the first time in 2016 before I got the sequence correct for the first fob. The second fob was much easier to do.Those two fobs lasted about 3-4 years each. My wife seldom ever drives my car, and when my initial replacement fob stopped working in about 2019, I started using hers. It stopped working in June 2022, so I ordered my third replacement fob (identical to the first two replacement fobs). The programming instructions this time were easier to follow, but it still took me two tries to get it right. So what if this replacement fob only lasts three years? For $25 per fob I can go through 14 of these fobs before I will have spent as much to have an OEM fob replacement for $350, and the original fob stopped working after ten years, that would only be 3-4 of these replacement fobs at a total cost of about $75-$100. I will go with these replacement fobs any day rather than the expensive OEM replacement fob that is not guarantied for the lifespan of the vehicle and may not last even ten years.
