We used this to put our car seat in at the gate, so it didn’t get much use. The zipper broke very quickly and made for an annoying return flight with a half working bag.

This carseat backpack bag is a great choice when needing to transport a car seat from one location to another. We plan to use it to gate check our daughter's car seat on a flight prior to renting a car at our destination. The bag itself feels well made, out of heavy enough material that feels water resistant. The straps are nicely sewn and are easily adjustable with wide braided strapping. The zippers are heavy enough and do not snag. There is a nice handle on the top, with a rubberized grip for easy lifting. As shown, this bag easily fits our infant seat with base attached, and has plenty of room to spare, almost too much. But that's because this bag needs to have the height to accommodate a regular car seat or a high backed booster. My one complaint is the location of the "waist belt". I know it's hard to make this a one size fits all type thing, but with the straps tightened to keep the seat high on my back, the waist belt hit me a couple of inches above the belly button. For reference I am 6 feet tall and stocky. So this means that smaller individuals will want to tighten the shoulder straps even more, thus making the waist belt even higher on them. This means that it is useless in transferring any weight to the hips, and serves only to stabilize a bit. At least it has zipper pockets on both side. All in all this is a good item that does the job. I would recommend it for short treks through an airport, or for just general storage of a car seat. A better fitting waist belt would allow you to displace some weight and utilize this for longer treks, but I would not let this design issue deter you from purchasing it.

Update Jan 2025 to 2 stars: we have used this car seat bag twice and now the bottoms have holes corresponding to pressure points. We have another one of a different brand that has 4 bumpers on the bottom that keep the bottom of the bag rubbing through - that one does not have holes. So it seems the life of this bag is extremely limited as you can expect the bottom to wear out.Previous review: I had a couple of horrible travel days with our 1.5 and 3.5 year old due to difficulties wrangling them and all their luggage/carseats. Was looking for a handsfree option for the car seat. This bag is extremely well made and has what looks like waterproof material inside that is perfect for containing a carseat, fold up stroller, kids bike, or whatever possibly messy thing you need to carry. The waist strap is amazing and reminds me of my large Osprey backpack, which redistributes the weight and makes it very easy to carry. There are small zippered pockets for small items, as well as a clear tag for labeling your luggage and a sturdy handle on top. The only knocks I have are: (1) that unlike my Osprey bag, which has a flap you can zip over the straps while it is acting as a checked bag, this one does not. I imagine the straps may get caught on something while it is being thrown around with the checked luggage. (2) the straps work well for a person with larger build. It hangs loose on my wife and doesn't provide any support at all.

Let's face it, having to travel with a car seat is not ideal, and not something you'll want to do if you can avoid it. However, if you have to, I think this is a decent option. What I like best is, unlike some other brands, this one zips closed (two zippers so you could lock them together if you wanted), but also the zipper is well positioned at the mid point, making loading the car seat in the bag easier. I've tried other brands of similar products, and the material on this is thicker and more durable than others. This had no problem fitting the Graco 3 in 1 care seat, and I have trouble imagining a car seat so big that it wouldn't fit. The padded shoulder straps are decent. Even the adjustable hip strap is padded, and includes a little zippered pocket on both sides of this strap. The hip strap is a game changer. At first, putting this thing on with the car seat in it is pretty uncomfortable (as you'd expect) but then after securing the hip strap, it helps distribute the weight and make the task seem more manageable. I like the tough thick handle on the top too for quick one handed carrying and grasping. There is a clear pocket at the top to fit an ID card/tag. Overall, I think this is a well thought out design for a challenging task. If you've got to travel with your car seat, this would a good option to consider!
