This was the only part I could find to fit my 87 so that was good, the bad is the pump sounds horrible when you max out turn. When its not maxed it works great.

Power steering pump in now installed in my 88 chevy suburban. Works as expected and no leaks. The only complaint I have was with the reservoir tank as it had some rust inside of it and the top where the cap screws on was a bit rough. But despite that, its working just fine. Easy to install.

The reservoir was more beat to than my original. It had been bent up but straightened somewhat and tack welded to seal a hole, I'm guessing. What's worse, though, is that the inside was filthy and there was some flash rust occurring inside the reservoir. I opted to reuse my original reservoir after I cleaned and touched up the paint and put it back on this reconditioned pump. The pump seems to have less power than my original one but in my case I like the feel more. I flushed the steering box, installed new lines and put an in-line filter in place on the low pressure line. My old pump reservoir was leaking and slightly noisier than it is now but it had more power too. I think the leaks could have been resolved with a seal kit. I did buy two other pumps from advance auto, also Cardone and also dirty and beat up. This pump originally was not recommended for my a/c truck even on Cardone website. I had to search for this and then write to Cardone to tell them this one fit with a/c trucks due to the rotated reservoir. 87 Chevy V10 tbi, a/c. The a/c compressor is the reason I need the offset reservoir.
