Description did not reflect, when I bought, "China", so I researched Cardone and all hits represented U.S manufactured. Box contains no paperwork and in a very important way, you are left clueless - they send with the axle, which has a hole through the hub end spindle just like OEM, a cotter pin, hub nut, and hub nut retainer, but what you don't know is that they're useless because they've provided you with "self locking" hub nut that you are unaware of because there is nothing in the box to alert you. With their hub nut, they provide you with what appears to be a spacer to go on before the nut and after you put that on and then spin on the nut, you can't tighten down any amount to get past the cotter pin hole. After I put a jack stand under my socket and breaker bar so that I could put my 250 pounds into it and thatgetting me nowhere, I called support and only then did I learn about this lock nut. When I asked why then, did you manufacture with a cotter pin hole and supply a cotter pin and locking retainer, he was puzzled and said he'd check with his engineers and get back with me - that was two weeks ago and I haven't heard a word. So today, I'm going out into the 95 degree heat, fight with my hub cap, and see how it's holding up. Regardless of what I find, I feel very uncomfortable without a cotter pin in. UPDATE: can't torque nut anymore and still can't get a cotter pin in so I fabricated something up.

OK, so my Tundra is a 2003 with a 3 inch lift. My original CVs, although still functioning ok, literally had no inner boots left (and most of the grease was slung all over the underside of my truck:) I purchased these Cardone CVs knowing that they might not hold up over the long run given the lift kit (I also have a differential drop to help minimize the angle of the CVs), but figured for the price I would give them a try. For starters, I was concerned about ordering these because of reviews I have read about damage to the dust seals incurred during shipping. I'm happy to say that the two CV's I ordered came individually packaged and also in one larger box, and it was clear they were thoughtfully packaged and handled well by amazon personnel. I've included some pictures here so you can see how they were packed and the condition they were in. The install itself was pretty easy, and this was my first time doing CVs. Although I have only had them installed for a week or so, they are functioning fine, and they fit without any problems at all. So, overall, I'm happy. Time will tell as to longevity, but I certainly can't expect the boots to last forever given the lift kit. My thought process is that if I have a problem a year or two from now, so be it, because for the cost I can grab a whole new CV and do the job again, except the next time I will be able to do it pretty quickly. Hope this helps folks. Oh, I'll modify this review if I have anything new to report. BTW, also replaced lower ball joints while I was at it. BELATED UPDATE 10/1/2022: So, I would estimate that I have about 5000 miles on these CV's at this point. About six months ago, one of the boots split, followed shortly thereafter by the boot on the other side of the truck. Once again I had to perform the grease cleanup routine lol. That said, I had a feeling the lift kit would mean an early demise for the boots, and sure enough, they are smoked. I will not blame the company for the fact that I have a lift, so that's on me. Just like my OEM CV's that split shortly after I installed the lift, the Cardone units are still functioning fine, although I do hear a little noise (popping/clicking) when turning the wheel sharply at very slow/crawling speeds. Overall, I don't really have any complaints about these. I suspect they would work pretty well on a non-lifted truck. Perhaps next time I will get some high-angle boots and retrofit these units.

Ended up not needing this axle yet i just rebuilt the factory Toyota driveaxle myself and really helped so i put it on the shop shelf for when needed. Looks like a pretty decent axle other than the cup trim ring being dented in numerous places so i straightened it up with channel locks the best i could till i install UPDATE I went ahead and ordered another one of these so I can change both of them while I'm at it and the second one came mint. Packaging is even beefier and it looks awesome. I think they're stepping they're game up seeing their rating. But first I tried a GSP axe and it was beat all up and sent it back and got my 2nd of these Cardone. Going to be swapping my original Toyota axles with these so I hope they ride as good as they look. 2000 Toyota Tundra SR5 4.7L regular cab 8ft bed

i think these will work fine, though i have 2 problems with them, they are clearly not new, and when shipped, the box is not adequate to protect the dust seal on the shaft allowing it to be smashed and deformed forcing me to order replacement seals and install onto the "new" shafts.
