So far its working great for me. 1993 k1500 Silverado Z71 with the 5.7 liter v8. Some user on here complained that there was play in the pully, but I've seen several other brands with a little play. I think it needs a little bit so it doesn't bind up when it gets fluid in the system. either way, its held up for me and working fine.

The good: It's new not reman . The not so good: Reservoir cap is junk, does not fit well . ended up trading out to my old stock chevy pump housing reservoir on to the new pump.

I was super excited when I found a new Cardone PS pump on Amazon and with a shiny zinc reservoir to boot for my Chevy truck and for 1/4 the cost of the OEM pump. I thought I had struck gold! So I ordered it and unfortunately the best part of it was the shiny zinc plating on the reservoir. First off, the pictures on Amazon of the Cardone pump are not what I got. I received 3 defective Cardone pumps and none of them looked the same as the pictures on Amazon. In fact the pictures are identical to the pictures on the ACDelco website, even the cap looked the same as the one on the Delco site which is why I bought the Cardone pump. I figured somebody had to make it for Delco (as far as I know Delco products are all farmed out and made/rebuilt to Delcos specs) and since it looked identical and Cardone is a well known company that rebuilds lots of stuff for Delco I figured they must make the new pump for Delco since they looked identical in the pics. However my assumption was wrong. For starters, all 3 pumps had caps that did not match the pictures which is not a deal breaker but all the caps had a huge clear silicone "doughnut" seal inside the cap that made it impossible to tighten without damaging the cap, and I could never tell when the thing was tight it just spun around 360 degrees independently of the locking mechanism. Also not a deal breaker, I'll just use the OEM cap, wrong! The OEM cap on the OEM reservoir has a stop and it clicks when it gets to the stop. So I tried the OEM cap on the Cardone reservoir, it would hit the stop but the cap was not making a seal and just flopped around. However the biggest problem though was that on all 3 pumps the return tube on the back of the reservoir was loose. The tube is supposed to be brazed in 2 spots, 1 where it enters the reservoir and a 2nd spot to support the tube so vibration doesn't break the it off. 2 of them did not have the secondary braze and the 3rd pump someone had attempted a braze. I never could figure out how the pictures on Amazon were identical to the Delco product and what I received was so different, hmmm. I really can't say anything about the quality of the pump itself because I wouldn't take the time to install it with the obvious flaws in workmanship with the reservoir and the cap. Anyway...I abandoned the idea of having a new pump with a shiny new zinc plated reservoir and ended up rebuilding the old pump with a Delco rebuild kit from Amazon for about $16.and repainting my old reservoir which is what I should have done to begin with and saved myself a bunch of time and a big headache. A little more to the story, my son who has the same truck, more money and less time than me, ordered the ACDelco OEM replacement pump and it was identical to the pics of the Cardone pump on Amazon and on Cardones website. Very interesting
