Works OK some of the time in my 2021 Ram. The wireless will intermittently cut out while driving or whenever I start the truck will sometimes have a hard time reconnecting. Also sometimes if I am on a phone call it the sound seems to sometimes be garbled or have compression issues, like maybe the wireless connection can't handle the connection speeds. When it won't reconnect it is usually when I have remote started the truck and it might have to do with my phone being connected to the home wifi and a switchign issue but sometimes I will be 10 miles away and it still won't reconnect. To be fair I have not tried updating the firmware since I bought, and maybe that would help, but if I am in a case where I really need to make sure the phone doesn't disconnect I will plug it directly into the USB port because my factory radio has wired carplay. The upside is also if its a long drive and I am using maps and other stuff it keeps the battery charged. It's a shame there doesn't seem to be a more reliable option without resorting to an aftermarket head unit.

I have an aftermarket Sony radio/screen in my car and struggled to find an adapter that would let me use CarPlay without plugging my phone in. Now let me tell you, this had a VERY easy installation and my phone connects to it automatically every time I get in the car. No delay or lag. It made such a simple change to my vehicle but I absolutely love it!

I have been using this product for over a year now and the latest update has finally taken it from a 4 to a 5 for us. A few notes to consider… I’ve connected it to a 2024 Aviator…My phone is connected to it as is my wife’sI’ve had to set the connection delay to 30 seconds to give us time to choose which iPhone needs to connectIf I want to swap… it’s easy. Just turn off the WiFi for the phone that is connected (using the swipe from upper right to lower left, temporarily turn off WiFi, connect the right phone, then turn the WiFi back on)The new sear software version works great. Prior, this would only have gotten a 3 star

Bought on Amazon. Delivered on 28 June 2024. Amazon 30 day guarantee ran out 28 July. Unit started to drop out/not connect on 27 July. Symptoms worsened, steady green went to flashing green for a couple days. Then light turned flashing pink on about 2 August 2024 and does not connect or recognize my vehicle any more. tom

This fixes a lot of the audio stutter, drops, and cold startup issues the v3/v4 units have. It also connects way quicker from a cold startup (almost wire speed) and video frame-rate seems to be more consistent than before. All around improvements for those that are curious to know.

I had tried a couple other devices and they would ALWAYS give me an issue connecting. Trust me, they were a pain. This one has been a lot better, but still has connectivity issues from time to time. I've figured out that all I have to do is turn my Bluetooth off then right back on and it'll connect. This is way less of a hurdle than the previous CarPlay devices I've tried.

I bought this product after researching for months for a wireless CarPlay option for my 2022 Jeep Gladiator. Once I finally ordered and received the CarlinKit I had high hopes. But with hopes usually comes disappointment. The setup was easy and the product performed as described. There was no lag in the operation and booted up quickly with every start of my vehicle. But, it did have a hugh effect on the battery life of my iPhone 15, more so than any Bluetooth device that I've ever owned. Part of the problem was to no fault of the Carlinkit itself. AS I discovered the Jeep Gladiator USB media port will stay powered up to a half hour after being switched off. That meant the my iPhone 15 remained connected to that device for extended periods of time. But with that said, the battery drain seemed to be more excessive with the carlinkit outside my issues with my Jeeps media port. So my recommendation to anyone purchasing this or any bluetooth dongle, would be to check out the operation of your USB media hub before ordering.

I ordered another brand and had to return because it would not automatically reconnect. Was skeptical that all of these wireless usb adapters would perform similarly. Not this one, it works ad advertised! Music, texting, GPS etc all work well with no noticeable lag. One negative (not for me) is when pulling up a video or reel, the audio misses maybe the first half-second. But it reconnects every time I get back in the car and takes 7-8 seconds. I’m in and out of my car several times per day. 2023 Genesis GV70. Will update this review if anything negative happens.
