The picture shows a complete set of adjusters and springs for both brakes. What I received was a universal set for one brake. I was really only needing a set for one wheel. But I was planning on a new adjuster for both wheels.

Quality materials, a couple of springs got loose and flew around the garage but, when I found them, there was no breakage. All the parts in the wheel were included in this kit. Some literature on usage would be a big +. I got by with Haynes and Youtube. This exercise was a great example of why there are disc brakes all around.

This was a great deal on a parts replacement kit for the rear drum brakes on a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan. They installed without any issue as per the manufacturer's service manual. I combined this Carlson kit with a set of Wagner Z714R brake shoes and two Wagner WC131966 rear wheel cylinders (made in USA believe it or not!) and had my brake drums machined at the local O'Reilly Auto Parts. The result is a DIY brake job that literally brings the brakes back to like new condition. For $20 it is a no-brainer to replace all those dirty, worn out parts with fresh, just do it you won't regret it.

Word to the wise here. First of all, I bought this kit locally under the "Brakebest" name. It is a dead wringer for this kit here (97 Dodge Caravan) in color and type. Many auto parts retailers source this stuff from the same factories in China and then just plunk their name on it with a label on the white box. Perfectly OK by me, I understand it up front and buy willingly. Mine was listed as the "Pro" spring set. Than being said: The parts all look first rate in quality and match in type and fit to the factory stuff you will be taking off - with one exception in my kit. The three piece top adjustment bar (male end, female end and the self adjuster interface screw) had the female end that had been swagged 1/8" out of place making the adjustment bar to long fully shortened and that prevented the drum from from slipping over the shoes upon reassembly. Doing a set of drum brakes for me is about 15 or 20 minutes (not bleeding or replacing the wheel cylinders) a side when everything works the way it should. It took me almost an hour to figure out what was wrong here. Looking at the other side that went together without a hitch and taking the bum side apart four times before finding the bad end and replacing it with the old end, which cured the problem.

Local parts store wants about 20$ each side for slack adjusters, and another 11 for clips, springs and the little misc. doodads. So when I got this for 20$ I kind of expected it to show up feeling real cheapy. Was real surprised to see it is all organized in the package so your not just digging in a bag of parts looking for corresponding pieces. And it most certainly did not feel cheapy. The slack adjusters especially felt way more heavy duty than the originals in my 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport. So if you need hardware for drums. This is the only kit you should be buying.

Everything was packaged as described. Hardware seemed that it was better built than the OEM hardware. Would definitely consider buying from Carlson again for future brake hardware jobs.
