Only down side I’d say is that it doesn’t come with a Preservative liquid. I just bought 70% alcohol and used that. I have it on display along with he Pig heart I got from the same people.

I loved that there was no heavy odor with the brains' preservation.I loved that the students easily found the parts they had learned about.My 6th grade class of boys loved every part of the dissection process, and in truth, they are on their way to becoming brain surgeons! hahaThe only negative was that the brains were a bit small, but perhaps I am accustomed to cow brains?At any rate, this is an excellent product for use in the classroom. Make sure you have gloves, goggles, and good tools! :)

My 8-year old daughter is fascinated with biology and everything medical and wanted to add to her collection of body and body-part models. But the only decent brain models out there are extremely expensive, mostly for classroom use. We were delighted to find an actual sheep brain on Amazon for about what I wanted to pay for a model. This would be so much richer of an experience!You can order the sheep brain with or without a dissection kit. We happened to have a dissection kit already because my wife studied in the medical field. The kit that comes with the brain is honestly not that useful -- really just a plastic knife, a wooden skewer, and a styrofoam platform like the kind used in butcher shops. The kit also comes with a simple guide to dissecting the sheep's brain, and you can find more complex descriptions/instructions on the internet.All in all, though, we were so delighted and cost and ease of ordering. The brain comes sealed and soaked in formaldehyde, timely delivery, and well-packaged. The odor of the formaldehyde of course is strong and you should take care to ventilate the room well. But if your kids are fascinated by the study of nature, this will prove to be a powerful and cost-effective experience they will never forget.

This product was A++. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to help out the lab in an education setting. Sure they are small and smelly, but everyone enjoyed dissecting them. They arrived in good condition. THere are plenty of structures to see and plenty of helpful guides online.
