I really like using this on my binoculars. It's easy to pull out of my pocket while outside to dust off the debris that gets on the lenses. I swear the air in my area is a constant for pollen and pollutants. I even tried this on my glasses and it works great on them too. It only takes about a half hour outside before I get a layer of dust and debris on my glasses. One of the cons of living in the country. Not sure how it works so well but it does. My new favorite toy! Seriously, this is great to have on hand. Good value and it works!

The idea of using fine carbon particles to clean a lens has a long history (I’ve seen old Zeiss literature suggesting cigarette ash) and carbon cleaning pens have been on the market for awhile now. Rather than risking one of my precious lenses, I tested this product by putting a thumb print in the middle of a junk uv filter. I followed the direction, first brushing off the dust (and in the process smearing the fingerprint), and then rubbing the surface in small circular motions with the cleaning tip. It did a nice job smearing the fingerprint oils around. Put the cap on, twisted (to recharge the pad with carbon particles), and did it again. And again. And again. And again. Perhaps some of the fingerprint oils were removed, but the filter’s surface was definitely not clean. Blowing on it (to create a film of moisture) and rubbing with lens paper did a better job in a single pass than this cleaning pen did in the five or six I tried.[Disclosure: I received this product for “free”—in quotes because the IRS requires I pay federal income tax on the retail value. This review is honest and uncensored by the seller.]

This is a great little lens and filter cleaning tool for those of us who still use actual cameras, lenses, and filters.

Finally, this is a must for the range if you have optics. Gentle but works! Optics are expensive and an eyepiece you cant see through clearly defeats the purpose. This has soft bristles and a micro pad that wont harm your lenses but cleans exceptionally well.I will never, not have one, in my range bag.

I've only used it a few times, but so far, it's great! My camera lens accumulated a good amount of dust and a little residue while this shipped, but it made quick work and was easy to use. I was a little nervous about the residue because, in my experience, I've never been able to get it 100% clean. The carbon tip worked like a charm and left no residue, scratches, or streaks!I will definitely buy again and recommend!

I just got a new pair of binoculars that I really enjoyed using on a recent roadtrip, but they got a little foggy/smudged so I wanted to clean them. I searched for a cleaner and found this brand to be highly rated on multiple sites. When it arrived today I was really pleased with how well it was working until I realized it was leaving small circular scratches on multiple lenses! I tried to get a decent photo, you can see the circular marks in the first one. There are more but it's really hard to get a focused shot that actually shows the damage. Apparently this is a good brand, but my experience was poor to say the least, and now my new binoculars are permanently scratched. I'm not sure if this is a usual problem, but I would be very careful, especially if the lenses you are cleaning are expensive.

Works great. Wish pad were triangular to clean square framed optics.

nice study build... nice sweeping brush... knocks the smutz off the lensBUTit leaves a trace of greasy film residue... that shows up as a multi-color sheen like gasoline spilled unto water.

These lens pens are the best on the market, and are essential for anyone using quality optics.. Works for all multi-coated lenses, using a lens pen correctly will extend the life of all lenses while also providing the clearest image possible without the risk of scratches, smudges, and dust.. The smudges are the hardest to clean but using the special exclusive carbon powder in a very small circular polishing motion will make any lens crystal clear.. I keep a Carson Lens Pen handy in every optics case I own.. Thank you for supporting America and it's Armed Forces
