The manual says to just connect the USB Cassette Converter to your computer and 'Wait for a minute until the system appears you [sic] "Your new hardware is installed and ready to use"'. What Windows actually says is "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."The manual says that it should show up in Device Manager as "USB Audio Device" or "USB PnP Audio Device". It shows up as "Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)". The manual lists a download link for Audacity, but does not have a link to get drivers for the device!I see that, in the very long description on Amazon, there is a "System Requirements" list which mentions Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, and 8. All I know is that Windows 10 doesn't recognize it, and there's no website to go to get a driver for Windows 10. So, if you're using a version of Windows that Microsoft still supports (10 or newer), you can't use this USB Cassette Converter. In other words, almost no one can use this device. Don't buy unless you're using a super old version of Windows. And really, why risk it? Just don't buy it, no matter what OS you're using.

I didn't get around to loading the software til the return option had lapsed. But when I tried to use it there was a knocking sound like the drive wheel was hitting on the inside? And never got anything from the the software ! So no I can't recommend this product.
