From the Manufacturer

Castle’s Sidewinder ESC, the leading 1/10th scale sport brushless ESC, is now waterproof. The new Sidewinder 3 can power crawlers on water filled trails, SCTs through rain soaked parking lots, and AWDs on rips across muddy fields. Drivers can follow their irresistible urges to drive in the mud or stomp their truck in puddles without damaging their controller. The Sidewinder 3 is a great fit for 1/10th off-road, on-road, and rock crawlers running up to 3S LiPo. It sports updated circuitry for faster response time and improved reliability. As always, the Sidewinder 3 offers industry-leading software functions and USB programming capability via Castle Link USB adapter (sold separately). The Sidewinder 3 offers world class performance at an entry level price.Although Sv3 and Castle brushless motors are waterproof, always rinse the ESC and motor with fresh water after exposure to corrosives or dirt. While the motor and controller may be waterproof, we suggest users confirm that the rest of their vehicle, including the batteries, servo, radio and chassis, are also waterproof before exposing them to liquids of any kind.

Works great on 2s- 3s the only only thing I don't like is it isn't sensored, so shudders a bit at take off, it sucks when "drag racing" do to spudder..but great for back yard bashing water proof

I am going ot have to upgrade my motor but after I programmed this it worked awesome. It is defaulted for a brushless motor so it will not beep if you are using a brushed motor. You actually have to program it using the light flashes as they work. Once you get to the option for the motor type, it will start to beep when configured. The low end control is awsome!

Bought this because my old esc stopped working properly. I haven't tested in water yet but as it says it is water resistant. It is much slower than my old axial esc but this is for crawling which I prefer rather than speed, but since it runs lipo, I still have a good amount of wheel speed. I'd say 10mph with my current setup but I will buy the castle link and toy around with the parameters. You'll need a new battery plug or use the one from an old esc like I did and solder the connections. I will also add that while speed decreased, the torque increased and still gives me the ability to cut donuts and such. Would buy again

pretty much the best esc you can buy amateur level for bashing or racing your buddies. The punch control is great, the programing is easy, even in the field. You dont really need a castle link just read the instructions and go by the tones and all the kids will love it and be jealous that you blow your tires off every run. Or put it in a crawler and enjoy the range of settings for drag brake and such. I have 3.

So far, so good with the new sidewinder esc. I bought it for my son's mini e revo. It fits well with a little modification and moving to the other side (where the receiver comes stock). It doesn't come with any connectors or a fan. But, if you look at the picture and read the description, you'll see that's exactly what it shows. I prefer to solder my connectors and I have fans and a programmer already. So, this was the perfect combination at a great price. The shipping was on time and it came in the original packaging. I would recommend this product and seller to anyone.

Very nice ESC for the money, works great in my AX10 crawler.Couple things to note when using this thing...1. You'll need to purchase battery connectors to match what your RC is using. (I used Deans connectors)2. You will need to either solder wires, or purchase bullet connectors to connect your motor to this ESC. Wire and bullets are not included with the ESC.3. You do not need the Castle Link software package to make this thing work,.... But it is worth every penny ($25.00) to set up the ESC. I'm running an old school, non-lithium battery, and brushed motor and the software made the changes I needed to make to the ESC a breeze. A couple clicks and you’re done. There are so many options in the programming of this thing, it’s a blast to change settings and see how the truck handles differently. Highly recommend!

I am running this in an Axial SCX-10 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon a unlimited kit. I have it paired to a Tekin 35T brushed motor and a 2s Lipo and I love it. Am definitely thinking about trying it with a 3s!The programming was fairly straight forward and everything worked great after the initial setup. After picking up a castle link and really tweaking the settings this thing really came alive! Great drag brake, great throttle response, and waterproof! I am definitely happy with this purchase.Castle has made a fan out of me, and I will be installing their products in my other rigs in the future.

It does everything a proper ESC should do, and is water proof (well at least up to an inch or so of depth), I wouldn't test it in deep water.I'm using it on my 1/16 e-revo with a velineon motor. the motor is the current hot spot, which is good. I'd rather replace the motor over the nice lipo battery or esc.
