NOT COMPATIBLE WITH BOOST MOBILE, AND MANY OTHER SMALL CHEAP CELL PHONE PLANS. WORKS PERFECTLY WITH T-MOBILE. BE AWARE EVEN IF THE AMAZON LISTING SAYS ''UN-LOCKED'' I HAD TWO OF THESE CAT 22's THAT WERE "SUPPOSEDLY" UNLOCKED. NEITHER WOULD WORK ON THESE SMALLER CARRIES. OTHER THAN THAT, IF YOU HATE CARRYING A CHUNKY PIECE OF PLASTIC WITH YOU, I'D RECCOMEND THE CAT S22, DOUBLE SIDED TAPE WITH A OLD BELT CLIP OFF A CELL PHONE CASE.....AND CARRY LIKE A REAL MAN. ON A BELT CLIP ON YOUR BELT. THIS CELL PHONE ISN'T COMPLETELY DUMB, JUST A BIT HANDICAPPED AND RIDES THE SHORT BUS FOR LIFE.

Just as my title suggests, it’s perfect for both situations.I’m currently in the process of unplugging from online life little by little. This phone is a perfect in-between option.I downloaded a t9 keyboard for free that works great.Battery lasts about 2.5 days. Sturdy and heavy which is good for my line of work, fits a 128 Gb SD card so you can store music or whatever.Corded headphones would have to be USB-C as there is no 3.5 mm output but it does have Bluetooth as well.I tested the Bluetooth and it works well. Walked across my house using it after leaving the phone in the kitchen. Great phone. Hope they put out a new updated version that’s a little slimmer cuz she’s kinda thick.

On the surface, this phone looks like it would check all of the boxes for a digital detox lifestyle. For the most part - it does. Solidly built, water resistant, and it would appear to be straightforward - but is it?After using for 2 days, I found the phone to be more of a distraction and a detriment then a positive experience. It gives you just enough Android to make you feel that you're getting a complete package, but good luck if you try plugging it into your car - there's no Android auto and that is a huge deal-breaker for me.Additionally, even with the volume turned all the way up, the ringtones are very quiet and easily overlooked. The phone isn't just slow - it's painfully slow. Good luck trying to load anything with it as it takes forever to process. Then there's the issue with storage.Nowhere does it say "hey, you should probably consider getting an SD card before transferring your stuff." You really can't do that because you have to set the phone up first before you can activate storage on the SD card. This means you either screw up your transfer process, or have to omit many items. All in all, if you are looking for a very simple phone - this might be a place to start, but day in and day out use is very frustrating. You can't do everything from the keyboard, so you have to use the touch screen or voice to text.If you know your limitations, I think it could be a good phone for digital detox lifestyle, but don't count on using a day in and day out without running into several frustrations. It's a shame, because I had really high hopes for it.

Got this for my kid. It is android operated but with the family link you can lock out alot of the "smart phone" options. Good gps location and a touch screen. With the price.Con: a little bulky but not bad.Update: works great on Roger's in Canada. The offspring has enjoyed it. Buttons are wearing rather fast. But all in all the touch screen works for all that too. After about a year of use, I would say it is definitely durable and the battery is still good. Would buy again.

I got this phone as a way to step back from my iPhone 12 and break free from the global smartphone addiction. I wanted to switch to either the Light Phone 2 or the Minimal Phone, but they were both on pre-order, so I found this awesome deal for under $70.I’m not really a fan of the built-in T-Mobile apps since I use Mint, and I wasn’t too keen on the Google apps either, at first.Coming from an iPhone, everything else feels pretty foreign to me. The number of messenger apps on the Play Store is just nuts—there are so many that look alike! I don’t get how people find that better unless you’re really into tech; it just feels like a drain on your time and energy to figure it all out.Once I got into the phone, I turned off all the non-essential apps like maps and Chrome. I downloaded Google Messenger and Google Contacts, which was cool because I can tweak my contacts and organize them from either my phone or computer. Now I’m rocking this old-school rugged flip phone from around 2001. I can go all weekend without charging it, and folks over 40 always seem super curious about it. Their top question? “Do you have to use T-9 or re-learn it? I couldn’t handle that!” But nah, it's still a touchscreen with Android, and the text-to-speech feature is pretty handy. If you want to use it like a smartphone, Google Assistant’s there too, but it doesn’t make it so easy that you end up mindlessly scrolling at dinner or while watching TV.I’m still planning on getting a Minimal Phone for that Blackberry vibe with an e-ink screen, but this phone is perfect for anyone wanting a tough device to use while stepping away from the madness of Silicon Valley.

Update: got new battery, still less than a day battery life. Given up on this phone now and moving on. Would not recommend. The phone is everything it is suppose to be. Everything is amazing, T9 word has a glitch where it won't put a space in between the current word and the predicted next word when you select it. Kind of annoying but I live with it. This phone is HARDY and WILL take the abuse of life. It is ALMOST everything they advertise. The battery is bad, real bad. If you talk or text regularly you will not make it through the day with a charge. 3 hours into the day with no talking or texting I will lose 10% battery life. It won't last 24 hours on a charge, maybe 12-14. I might have gotten a bad battery but this a major down fall for the phone I got. Otherwise its good, will be buying a new battery for it soon and hopefully that fixes the issue for me.

We wanted a simple cell phone to be left in the car for emergencies. This fit the bill. My husband isn't a fan of smartphones and doesn't need or want any of those features. He just wants to be able to make a call if he has to. He likes the big tactile buttons and that you just have to flip it open to answer. While it is bulky and heavy, it's perfect for him because he can feel the weight of it in his hand and not have to worry about dropping it. He found it pretty easy to learn to use once I had it set up. I was able to use photos to label the numbers in his phone so he can more easily select who to call (as opposed to squinting at the small text). We store it in the glovebox 24/7 and it's turned off except when needed. So far, it's lasted 4 months and is still working on the initial charge. The heat hasn't seemed to bother it; I'm hoping the cold won't either.Although when it boots up it says T Mobile, my Lucky Mobile SIM worked perfectly in it. It's clearly unlocked but is somehow stuck with the T Mobile branding on startup which is not an issue at all.

I am updating it to 5 stars. On a whim today, I decided to put my Visible sim into the phone to see if it would work. It does. It still says that the device is Network locked and not eligible to be unlocked. However, I have texted, made calls and am currently using the hotspot. (shrug)Original Review (3Jun24)This phone is locked to T-mobile network. I did try to unlock the phone; however, it says the phone is not eligible to be unlocked. Thankfully, it works with Tello (T-mobile MVNO). Still annoying, when it was supposed to be unlocked. The phone itself is nice and I knew what I was getting when I ordered it.

Bigger than a classic flip phone. Its footprint is almost as big as iPhone 14 pro, but it's almost twice the thickness of an iPhone!I bought it for construction work. Feels like a toy phone because it's so big, so its a little embarrassing to open in public, but it's sturdy and it's going to be a great dumb phone. It's heavy, but I won't be carrying it around in my pocket, I'll be keeping it on my desk or in the truck. If you want this in your pocket often you're going to want a smaller phone.I have a feeling I could drive over this and it would be fine. The system is a bit gimmicky to me, but once I deleted all the unnecessary apps, it will work fine as a phone for calls. The screen is a touchscreen but isn't big enough to be useful for smartphone things. It came with a lot of the newer apps that I wouldn't expect to be on a phone with a small screen - like Youtube.Overall, if you are ok with the massive size of the phone, I think it's a good purchase. Works fine on 4G with Koodo sim card, even though it says it's a T-Mobile phone.
