I was initially skeptical about this product, but I was desperate as my long-haired cat was getting mats and whenever I attempted to brush him he would swipe, bite and rabbit kick the brush, regardless of the type. On a whim, I ordered this item and much to my surprise it worked well! The fog of moisture that emanates from the device helps to loosen those mats and knots so there is less tugging so he is more apt to sit and allow me to brush him. Afterwards, his fur was so soft. The mats that previously I had to cut out since he was so uncooperative I was able to brush out. I don't know if I would be able to get some of the more serious knots with this tool, however, I am optimistic that as long as he continues to let me brush him then we will be able to prevent the mats from forming. After brushing him out I pushed the button and the fur simply fell into the trashcan. It was very easy. The brush is plastic, I would think with a lot of use the teeth will get brittle over time and break, but I did not get any sense that the teeth were fragile while using the brush. In my situation I was not going to tug or use much force since my cat has a history of detesting being groomed.

I'm not sure if all the brushes are made this way or if mine was defective, but the one I received doesn’t retract fully and sits at an angle (see photo). This positioning makes the already short bristles even less effective. As a result, the brush doesn’t remove hair from my cats as efficiently as expected. The steamer itself is quite powerful, but the power button is overly sensitive, making it difficult to brush without accidentally turning it off.

To start with my comment about flimsiness. It feels flimsy and cheap. I was skeptical when opening it. It’s very lightweight and it is small compared to what I expected. It doesn’t feel like a piece of electronics meant to hold and disperse water lol. However, it works great! The fact it is not bulky or heavy is also a plus. Being lightweight makes it easier to use because I move it around to periodically brush my cat for maintenance grooming. All in all, it’s practical, it works, and it looks nice too because of the white and grey colors being very clean cut. This is a great brush for my cat! I have a very fluffy ragdoll (long, fine, soft fur that mats easily). So, please take some of what I say with caution if your cat has a very different type of fur. Apologies for the lack of photos! This does not apply heat, only water. On first use I was very concerned about the fact that the surface of my cats fur was left feeling wet, but the amount is actually quite small and dispersed so it dries very quickly. Minutes at most. Whenever I check it’s always already dry.The brush itself doesn’t have very long prongs, but somehow it still manages to ease open the developing fur mats to prevent them from becoming a bigger problem or eradicate them entirely. I still need to pick at some super tiny mats that develop near his skin in areas that he tries to prevent me from having access to, but the time and effort, including mental effort, that goes into brushing has dramatically decreased since I got this.He seems to really love how it feels. He’s always been a “I accept spa treatment” kind of cat, and loved when I used his old brush on his chin/face (ionic vibrating brush marketed towards humans haha, I have one for myself too). But, usually he is done as soon as I get near a fur mat or certain areas. He seems to be more tolerant of this brush and even purrs sometimes while I’m brushing him! You might want to be careful around the face because there is indeed a mist of water, but if your cat dislikes being brushed, this brush is worth trying. The “push to remove fur” function is GENUINELY useful, unlike other brushes I’ve tried (e.g., Furminator has something similar but is pointless). I can tell that this will stay more clean because of that function too. Finally, this brush leaves my cat’s fur looking more clean and better groomed. I don’t have a way of knowing if he’s actually substantially more “clean” or just better brushed, but the texture of his fur and how it looks after using this brush is much nicer; it’s reminiscent of how he looks when fully dry after a long bath ordeal.

If your brush head doesn't look quite right, like it won't retract all the way, there may be a piece of thin clear plastic slid through the teeth under the bottom of the gray plate the teeth stick through. On my brush, It was keeping that plate from fully retracting and sitting flush on my brush. The teeth on one end of the brush were barely sticking through that end of the plate where it was raised a bit. I pulled that piece of clear plastic out, and it looks and works like it should now. I assume that was something used during assembly to space it apart a certain distance or something, and they forgot to pull it out. I don't think it should've been left in there. All my cats love this brush, at least on the lowest light mist spray setting. The second, deep clean setting puts out a bit too much mist for a couple of them, the others love it though. I have a few different styles of these steam brushes. The misting steam works about the same on all of them, I assume the internal parts used are similar. The biggest difference is the brushes. This one has wire brush teeth with the tips dipped in some type of plastic to make it more comfortable on their skin. The wire teeth seem to do a bit better at detangling and deshedding than the other brushes I have that use soft silicone teeth. Size wise, all of them are a bit on the large size for brushing cats and small dogs, but they work. There are still some areas around the head, neck and underarms that I need to use a smaller (non-steam) brush for. It seems to work really well. I charged it when I got it, added some water and brushed 5 cats and a few kittens fairly thoroughly. It still had plenty of power left. The hair eject button works well, hair comes right off. It feels well built, fairly simple design, The handle angle maybe could use some adjustment, but it does work well.
