I was so hopeful when I put the mat on the floor. I have six indoor cats. They walked up, sniffed it, then walked away with disinterest. I tried throwing a hair tie (toy) on it, sloshing the little fish around, walking away to see if they were just waiting for me to leave. But nothing. Days went by and nothing. One morning I found it had been peed on and threw it away.

Squish squish squish- my cats wouldn’t go near it I think due to the plastic reek that filled the room. I set it up on towels and though I closed it firmly, after about a day sitting there ignored, the towels were damp and there was leakage from the valve. You’d be better off filling a tub with water and floating some ping bong balls on it! Waste of time and money.

This water mat seems well-constructed and durable — I appreciate the thicker material and anti-scratch design. Unfortunately, my cats just aren’t into it. They’ve pretty much ignored it entirely, even with the included cat wand toy. I was hopeful it would be a fun sensory experience, but it didn’t hold their interest. Every cat is different though, so it might work better for others. Just didn’t hit the mark for mine.
