These were larger than what i pictured but it works perfectly because I think it fits a normal sized piece of paper. I have been using these to hold math game materials for my class, and this way i can put the game board in the bag so it’s even easier for the students to grab the materials and get started. The material is thick and durable. I could see myself using them as a first aid pouch for field trips or holding bookmarks or stickers for my class with my unused bags in the set. They have held up well and I haven't had any break with how rough that 4th graders are.

For the price, a great set of pouches, with colored zippers so you can easily identify what you're looking for. Plus they're mostly clear, so you can see the contents as well.I would say the zippers and closure is just okay. The zipper quality and stitching may leave something to be desired, but these are not intended to be hard use or waterproof. The interior fits an 8.5"x11" piece of paper with a little room to spare.Holding larger items, or a lot of flat items, will cause these pouches to bulge, which might be fine for you, or might take up more room than you think, so keep that in mind.We use these pouches mainly to organize kids stuff in the cars or things like puzzles or action figures at home. For example, each car has a pouch for each kid with just in case items. When they were very young, 1 to 2 diapers, a small pack of wipes, and a small nursing blanket to be used as a changing surface. The items inside have changed, but these kind of pouches continue to serve us well.

If you were picturing “mesh” as something with holes in it, like a laundry bag or the net bags that oranges come in, then be aware that these bags aren’t that kind of mesh. These bags are solid plastic with a raised mesh-like pattern, no holes, so yes, you can put narrow or tiny objects, like pencils or Legos, in the bags without fear of them falling out.However, I wasn’t terrifically impressed with the bags’ quality. They’re an odd combination of very big but not strong enough to hold big items. The plastic isn’t very thick; the zippers work well enough but are nylon, not metal; and the side seams aren’t sewn but either glued or heat-sealed. I don’t think they’d hold up well to storing anything heavy or sharp-pointed, such as metal tools or pointed scissors. They would hold pencils because pencil points probably aren’t strong enough to poke holes in the bag, but they’re awkwardly big for school pencil pouches. I had this immensely clever idea where I was going to make these into pencil pouches with two compartments by folding them in half and sewing together the sides opposite the fold, but it didn’t work because the zipper gets stuck at the point that it’s folded. (And now I’m irrationally annoyed by the fact that a product won’t do something it wasn’t designed to do. I hate it when my immensely clever ideas turn out to have stupid flaws.)So what will these bags work for? They’d be good for storing some large lightweight craft supplies, like construction or scrapbooking paper, which will fit in without getting bent. They would probably work well for their advertised purpose of storing jigsaw puzzles, in case you happen to have a large collection of puzzles in worn-out cardboard boxes. The bags are bigger that the lids of most puzzle boxes, so you could cut the picture out of the lid and put it in the bag without bending it, then put in the puzzle pieces. Also, you could probably use them to carry around small craft or art projects. For instance, they’d hold a sketchbook and a box of markers or colored pencils, or the yarn, hooks, and pattern for a small crochet project (but any scissors you put in will probably need to be either blunt-nosed or in a sheath). In short, you can probably come up with all kinds of uses for them, but check the dimensions carefully before you buy them, because you might not need so many oddly large bags.

This set of 30 zippered mesh pouches are sturdy, well made and much larger than expected.I like that the colorful and smoothly gliding zippers have an easy to grab tab, and that the multiple color groupings along with the pouches' semi-transparency make them very versatile for sorting, organizing and storing.I also like that they will protect my stuff from moisture, dust and critters like moths. Another plus is that I did not notice any of that plastic off-gassing odor sometimes found plastic items.Although they look like ordinary pencil pouches, at 13.4" wide x 9.4" high, they can hold a whole lot more than just pencils.I like them better than I expected to so I'm glad I got them and that there are 30 of them. I plan to use them to store my scattered tools and supplies from my various interests and hobbies (sewing, knitting, jewelry making, watercolor painting, DIY, etc.) as well as for office, household supplies and for travel so that I can both locate and quickly access whatever it is I am looking for.Thus far, I haven't been able to find a single container to fit my too-many artist paint brushes of varying lengths, so, to begin, I chose a darker purple one and was delighted that they all fit, even the tallest brushes, with room to spare! I may keep the darker purple zipper theme as a category for the rest of my watercolor supplies: one for numerous and scattered tubes of watercolor paint, and a third for miscellaneous items like small stencils, watercolor mediums and measuring and painting texture tools.I'm actually looking forward to the task of finally getting a handle on organizing my varied and scattered supplies, whether for my various craft interests or for household and office use.If (when) I run out of these, I will very likely order them again.
