Seed Growing Tips

Planting Media

Quality Growing Media

:Opt for a high-quality growing medium such as a mixture of coco coir and peat moss. These provide good aeration and moisture retention, which are crucial for seed germination and early growth.

Warmth for seeds

Warmth

Maintain a consistently warm environment for your seeds, ideally around 70-80°F (21-27°C). This encourages faster germination and promotes healthy seedling development.

Light

Adequate Light

Ensure your seeds receive sufficient light, preferably from a bright, south-facing window or using grow lights. Light is essential for photosynthesis, which fuels plant growth. Aim for around 12-16 hours of light per day for most seedlings.

Watering

Proper Watering

Water your seeds regularly, but avoid overwatering, as this can lead to damping off and root rot. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. It's essential to strike a balance to prevent both underwatering and overwatering.

Seeds Need Humidity

Optimal Humidity

Maintain adequate humidity levels around your seeds and seedlings to ensure successful germination and early growth. You can achieve this by covering the seed trays with a clear plastic dome or using a humidity dome. Alternatively, you can mist the soil surface lightly with water to increase humidity. Consistent moisture in the air helps prevent the soil from drying out too quickly and promotes healthy seedling development.

Seed Pack Instructions for sprouting seeds

Follow Seed Packet Instructions

Each type of seed may have specific requirements for planting depth, spacing, and care. Always refer to the instructions on the seed packet for the best results. These guidelines often include information on when to plant, how deep to sow the seeds, and any specific environmental conditions needed for successful growth.

Followed the directions on the packet, and planted in good quality soil. Not one single sprout. Planted them in one of the two flower beds in our backyard. In the other bed, we planted cat grass and it grew like crazy. I wouldn't buy these seeds again.

The seeds were a good quality and this was the right purchase, I believe 95% or more all seeds germinated, I’m happy with them.

The germination rate is low - a lot of seeds don't grow, but those that do are sturdy and my cat says they are very tasty.

I planted these on my patio in a container. They grew much better than I expected. I probably should have put less seeds in the container.

The only reason I don’t rate these seeds 5 stars is that only roughly 30% of the seeds germinated. Even so, there is a pretty significant amount of useful catnip and the cat is thoroughly enjoying
