I only gave 1 star because nothing sprouted. I don’t know that it was the seed’s fault that they never germinated. Not one grew, and there were like a million fluffy seeds. They were kind of difficult to plant because there was a slight breeze, the seeds stuck together, then stuck to my fingers, then blew away. The instructions were to look up directions and do your own research. I could have used more concrete instructions.

I would not recommend these as the package was smaller than expected and nothing took. I tried in several different areas and of all plants, cat tails should really take easy in nature.

The good thing about this purchase is that it contains more cat tail seeds than most people will ever need if they can just get a few to grow. I followed the directions to soak these, and then collect the fuzzy material and lastly to collect my seeds for planting. I have half a dozen or so of them growing right now in peat pots that I will transplant to one of the creeks on our land. But I attempted to get around 125 to germinate, so that’s not a very high rate of success. But despite this I still feel this is a decent purchase because just this half dozen of them will over time make it so I have plenty of them and have to control them each year.
