1977 Johnson 70 HP it made my voltage output normal. This has a gray wire, 2 yellow, 1 red and 1 black. I had to remove the stock jumper thing that was on my terminal block and hook the gray up to gray and it worked great.

If you don't need the gray wire, just use a zip tie away from metal parts. You probably could just cut off the gray wire but you would probably void the warranty.

Title explains it. Probably good rectifier. But mine is cooled by the water that passes through the engine

This worked like the original, but I would recommend a voltage regulator to protect the battery from over charging. It fits in the same place and it is a little more money but well worth it.

The directions were fine except they don’t tell you to remove the original crossbar going from the yellow to red wire on an unregulated system, once that’s removed everything works fine. Great improvement for an old motor and saves the battery. Thanks CDI, great product. This went on a 1978 140hp Evinrude.

I purchased the boat and the battery would not charge. Doing some research I learned the old diode packs did not regulate the voltage which can cause battery failure as well and problems with today's electronics. This unit has the regulator built in. It took about 15 minutes to install and the voltage never gets above 14.2.

Not a direct fit for my 110 Johnson. It took some playing with it but it went in without any mod. It works as expected and after one trip out still working fine. The only downside is that it gets very hot. Heat and electronics don't mix well so I expect this to not last me very long. Batteries were fully charged when we went out.

Installed one of these on my 1972 Evinrude 135 Silver Starflite. Before I bought this, I had installed a CDI rectifier, but the voltage gauge was showing over 16+ volts. This CDI unit has a built in regulator in addition to a rectifier circuit to keep the voltage right at a perfect charging voltage of 14 volts or so. Highly recommended for any unregulated 70s outboard, saves your on-board electronics from being fried. I'm buying another CDI regulator for my 1971 Mercury 1350 inline 6 cylinder next. (CDI website says to use # 193-5114 for old Mercurys)
