Even the XL size is too small to offer useful structural support for some men's shoes sizes 12 and 13. These are okay for some of my shoes, but they just sit loosely in others, which defeats the purpose of shoe trees. Had I known this, I would have gone with a different brand. Quality is nice, but they are too small.

*Please see my edit below my initial review after having these a couple weeks. These shoe trees are awesome! This "type" of shoe tree is awesome. That's the good news. Lol. I never dreamed that buying shoe trees would be so complex. My understanding at this point is these are European type shoe trees. Bottom line, once you figure out the right size to get with this type of shoe tree, in my opinion, they are the best. The most difficult part of choosing this type of shoe tree is the sizing. Depending on the brand, I am either a medium or a large. In fact, every other brand on Amazon at least, I am a medium. In this brand, I am a large. But barely. If they were any larger, they would not fit. For reference, I am most often a US size 10, but often a size 10.5, and rarely a size 9.5, or size 11. Lol.Hopefully this will save other people time, and save returns. The most important aspects of buying shoe trees again in my opinion are the following:1. The vamp. Part of the reason I think knowing whether a particular brand has a high vamp or not is because this almost always means that everything else is high-quality. I am really surprised how important this aspect is, again in my opinion, and how difficult it is to figure out whether a particular brand has one or not. The best way I have figured out how to figure it out is if they point it out. When you look at the photos, if they have a high vamp which I believe is important, they will point out that they have a high vamp.2. The sizing. Unfortunately, similar to buying shoes, this is trial and error. But once you figure it out, you're good to go.3. This one is so obvious, I'm almost wondering if I should even point it out, but UNFINISHED cedar shoe trees seem to be the best. This is because you get the advantage of drying out the shoe, in addition to what every shoe tree does, which is to keep the shape of the shoe, and minimize wrinkling, especially at the top.I may add to this review later, but hopefully this helps people. I know I look at reviews to help me make a decision.3/20/2024 edit: I cannot believe this. I was just removing one of my new shoe trees, and I heard this Godawful sound. A few seconds later, I noticed the wood of one of the shoe trees is splitting, significantly. That was the sound I heard. I think I am going to pause my shoe tree buying. It has turned into a surprisingly stressful experience. I have learned a lot, and I have no doubt I will eventually purchase more. I very much believe they are essential to caring for a good quality pair of shoes, and helping to make shoes last longer. I wonder if this is another one of those times when we think we are getting a good deal on Amazon, but the item ends up being "cheap". I don't necessarily blame the companies selling their products anymore. My understanding is that Amazon has figured out how to take an increasingly larger percentage of whatever a particular company is selling, while at the same time essentially forcing companies to price their products as low as they possibly can, until we end up in an increasingly untenable situation. For what it is worth, I apologize for my part in all of this. I had already begun buying fewer of a particular something, but when I do buy something, being willing to evaluate the value of something based upon "cost per use" for instance. If I purchase an item and get a great deal on it, but only end up using it two or three times, versus buying a more expensive version of that same item, but end up using it once or twice a week for years, then the more expensive item is actually the much better value. This seems easy, but it can be difficult to put into real life practice. There are things I have had for years, and used many times, so I understand the concept, and believe it. It is still difficult to remember sometimes. Lol.

Best cedar shoe trees I've found hands down. 2 Springs are better than one in these middle supports. I used these to stretch a few pairs of loafers and my shoes fit better than ever and are holding their look well.

Perfect fit, a beautiful cedar construction, smells fantastic.Bought a pair of Alden shoe trees for $69.99; this ones are a steal for $128.99 for 6.

They are nice and chunky, but still fold for easy insertion/removal, especially with the tab.Best price I was able to find as a Canadian. Great scent after a year still. Have not sanded any of them down to make one of the pairs slimmer, although thinking about it. I would say bigger is better if you are having doubts as you only need sandpaper to bring it down where it needs to be for a given pair (and write the name of the shoe down on the tree if you do, to remember wear it goes).Amazon.ca orders are guaranteed to be the final price so if you wind up with any additional fees, let them know.

I wear a 7.5d US shoe, and ordered my first set in Medium. They fit some of my shoes perfectly, but are a little too big for others, which I expected. I just ordered another set in Small, for my more narrow tighter fitting shoes. These are high quality shoe trees; they have some weight to them being made from a generous amount of natural red cedar, and I really like the double spring loaded tubes as opposed to one, and the full heel, which really fills out the shoe to keep its shape. If you're a bit between sizes, as I am, or wear a narrow shoe, be a bit careful with the spring loaded toes. It's a great feature, but as I oped for the larger size for my first set, It may make it difficult to pull the shoe trees out once they are in, or catch a piece of leather inside the shoe (behind where the pinkie toe would be if you were wearing your shoes, at the widest part of the foot) and pull on it since this is fairly smooth, but still unfinished wood. I expect this to be less of an issue for the Small size in my own shoes as they will be a little less snug. There is an easy fix for this, though. Between the two springs that spread the toe piece apart, there is a phillips head screw. Tightening this screw allows you to completely close the gap and make the side of the shoe tree much more flush, which worked perfectly for me as now the wood does not catch that piece of leather inside the shoe. That one issue aside, these are solidly constructed, high quality shoe trees at a very fair price through the Little Wholesale Program. Take care of your good leather shoes and they will last a very very long time, and happy shoes will take care of your feet.

Great product that helps to keep my high end dress shoes in good shape. The expanding toe structure adjusts nicely to the shape of the shoe and further improves the support to the shoe's shape. All 6 pairs that I ordered came in impeccably good condition.

My husband loves his shoes and takes great care in looking after them. He says these are the best shoe trees he has and that they are really good quality. He owns way more shoes than I do so he should know. I am still waiting for him to come out of the closet.

These are high-end shoe trees. They are made of solid wood, built with two pistons (as opposed to one), constructed with a generous amount of wood (you can smell the cedar wood) and a split toe design. Due to these qualities, the shoe trees fill up the shoes and maintain the shape. The dual piston and split toe design create enough pressure to maintain the shape of the shoes.Besides maintaining the shape of the shoes, shoe trees absorb odor and moisture from shoes. Moisture is damaging to leather shoes. Previously, I used to buy shoe trees from a clothier for around $7.50; although they were heavily discounted, they are no where near the quality of these shoe trees. (They have a single piston, no split toes, and substantially less wood. But I doubt that I will ever see the $7.50 price again; the retailer stopped the promotions.)Picking the right size is a gamble. Because of the previous feedback about sizing, I ordered these shoe trees in one size larger. They work well. These shoe trees from Amazon are a solid deal; they are priced around $19, including shipping. They are worth the money for high-quality shoes. Some shoes will last a lifetime if maintained properly. That includes using shoe trees.
