I wanted to replace the grubby old strings that some former inhabitant used on the ceiling lights in my basement, and these were just the ticket. The wooden knob is a nice size to easily grip and the chain seems sturdy and was easy to attach to the existing chains on the lights. These chains could be a little longer - I kind of forgot quite how short I am and didn't take into account how short the existing chains are - but I've already gotten used to it and probably won't bother to order extra chain to lengthen them.
