There are other adaptors out there that may provide the same functionality, but this one does it at a very reasonable price. It is a basic adaptor, with no smart phone camera controls, just flexible mounting and adjustments.

Update:If you use this as a phone clamp in your car, you might die.It can not be used with only one hand.Rotating the front piece will thread the connecting screw which means that the connecting plates will cease and stop rotating. If you are -- obviously -- already driving distracted, this will make it much worse.I filed down the notches in the connecting plates so it would rotate freely. This helped but with the screw issue, it will wont rotate clockwise much more than a quarter turn. Rotating it counter-clockwise more than a quarter turn and the screw will fall out of the receiving threads.Too many times while trying to add and update GPS, I fought with this in ways that put myself and other drivers in danger.If you need a phone clamp that you can set up and not move very often, this is perfectly fine for that. Do not use it in your car.Original Review:The plastic feel sturdy and heavy enough. The 2 for $10 price seems like a good value.I did not realize the front part does not freely spin so when I unscrewed the back to get it to spin, the front fell off. I assume that the clamp came with rubber pads on both sides of the squeezy part but I only see one now.Where the front and back part connect, there are teeth in the plate that do not allow the front part to freely spin. If you want your phone to be locked in place once you set it, this will do a good job. I like to control my phone vertically and then switch to horizontal to when using Maps or Youtube so this mount will not work for me.I have another phone clamp that is essentially the same that I have attached to a SmallRig Magic Arm. I wanted to get the same setup as a gift before Christmas.
