The rubber bottom does not grip a hardwood floor as well as hoped, allowing the cello pin to slide away if it gets too far forward.

Beautiful solid endpin. The wood grain complements the cello. The back has a non skid surface, so it works great on carpet or smooth floor surfaces.Our cello teacher loved it so much we got her one for Christmas!

Beautiful....but rubber backing doesn't grip at all on hardware floors...slips just like the 'normal' black rubber type stopper I was trying to replace. I was hoping a different, really gripping type back was being used. I didn't use on other type bare floors...just went to the strap anchor type end-stop I also bought as backup knowing my experience with these type round unanchored stoppers hadn't worked well in the past.
