Love this look but chose the 4in balls thinking the 5in balls would be too big. Wish I would have bought the bigger ones. Still love the look and will probably order another set if the 4 inch to achieve the look I was going for.

These four 6 inch fire balls arrived well packaged and individually wrapped in plastic. They reminded me of small cannon balls although they are surprisingly light for their size and easy to work with. I am looking forward to using these fire balls in my firetable to give it a more modern esthetic and also create a glow. I anticipate it will require additional fire balls in another size to create a cohesive look and fill the space sufficiently as these are large but don’t nest together very well. I am relieved that these will be used outside as I am concerned about the soot produced by another reviewers fire balls.

Theses started out great, but after a few uses they became covered in a soot that flakes off and can stain things. We just use these on our outdoor propane fire pit, so I wasn't expecting any soot at all. Not sure if this is normal? The flakes break off the balls and have stained outdoor seat cushions, hit peoples clothes, etc. Nice look, but more of an annoyance. Not sure if this is just a defective batch?
