I purchased 3 pairs of these scissors, and 3 are already broken after 3 months of light use (cooked soft foods only - mostly noodles and meatballs). Within the first 2 weeks, the bear-shaped cap in the middle of 2 scissors fell off and would not stay in. Then after 3 months, 1 pair of scissors completely broke in half (the plastic cracked at the joint), and 2 pairs of scissors are extremely dull -- they won't even cut noodles anymore. These have NEVER gone in the dishwasher and are only hand-washed. Overall, I like the case, tongs, and the scissors when they were working, but now all 3 scissors are in the trash.

This is a much safer option than the traditional metal scissors, the blade doesn't cut like metal, but yet it still cuts the food well. It is hard to get a real cut into the skin unless you force it. This is great if you have babies or toddlers around, this ceramic scissors is a better option since they most likely will want to play with it or try to grab it. A must have for new parents.Update: the joints became loose after a few wash, therefore not as sturdy and doesn't cut as easily.

Update: Nope. After using these a dozen times, I want to love them but they failed completely. The center cracked off and one blade fell out, with no way to repair them, while I was trying to cut a thin slice of chicken at a restaurant. The bear cap on each side, I figured out, was supposed to hold the sleeve on. But since they are both popping off all the time, they don’t function. The blades were sharp and clean, but of course, nothing you can do with one side broken.Original:I like the ceramic blades a lot! They cut very well, even steak, and feel really clean, no metal stuff or paint to chip. They are bigger than I expected as I used to carry around a mini scissors for cutting baby food, and these are more like medium sized. The length is almost 7 inches, as indicated. They come in a nice carrying case, which is very useful when you get it dirty. There’s a plastic tong included that also fits into the case. I’m a little confused about the center/hinge though. I like to take food scissors apart to wash but these don’t seem like they are meant to be taken apart regularly, as it needs a tool to unscrew the center. But the bear cap that’s covering the joint pops off, it’s not glued or anything either. Hmm.
