These plates are beautiful, just like the rest of the items that go with this style. They are heavy duty, but not so heavy that they are too bulky or cumbersome. They are heavy enough to be sturdy, so that you don't have to be extra gentle or overly careful with them. They stand up to everyday use, but look like a set that you would just have on display. It is the perfect combination of beauty and durability. The color and design match any type of theme or decor you may have. Such a versatile set! Excellent quality, perfect for gift giving, and it is a set that is made to last a lifetime, even if you have kids/teens in the house!Also a note of info - These salad plates are actually ALMOST as large as a dinner plate. The wide designed rim is what takes away from the serving area, so that you can't fit a full dinner on there (unless you put food on the designed part). Otherwise, they are the same size as a typical dinner plate.
