No instructions as to whether the charcoal side goes up or down. I put charcoal facing up until I can find out the correct way.

Honestly, I don't know if these are better than the standard flimsy paper filters that I have been using for years, but these filters are solid, they are sturdy. They have foam seals around the edges, the HEPA filter element and then the active carbon with a honeycomb structure to add stability to the overall form factor, so It sure makes me feel that I am getting a very thorough filter. The solid feel alone makes it difficult for me to even think of going back to the flimsy paper filters. The air has to go through, can't go around this one.I love these, and will probably keep getting these, just from a mental standpoint, the others no longer seem to be adequate as they are such a loose and flimsy fit.

This was a perfect fit in our 2022 GMC Canyon. It looks like like the name brand, appears to be of good quality and was easy to install.
