Brake band for the chain brake does not fit correctly over the drive clutch. Doesn't appear to be OEM. Save your money.

In general, this is a good replacement.The cover is made out of some kind of aluminum, just like the original. Everything functions smoothly. The metal used for the chain adjustor and brake switch is a bit cheaper in quality than the OEM. I did mar it up a bit but it still works fine.One problem that you will run into is that the cover comes with the brake engaged. Unless you have the specialty tool, you will need to install the cover with the sprocket removed. This will allow you to turn the brake off. Otherwise, the brake will not for over the sprocket.

I got this to replace the cover of my Husqvarna 440 and it’s the perfect fit. The rubber and plastic on the old cover was starting to breakdown so I needed a replacement. It’s finished nicely, it feels just as strong, and looks just like the original one besides not have the emblem sticker on it. Initially it did not fit but I quickly realized that the clutch lock was engaged so it wouldn’t fit over the clutch. This was somewhat difficult to disengage, I used a strong needle nose pliers and tried multiple times before it disengaged. After that it slid on easily and I was able to adjust the chain without issues, and the lock worked as it should. I would have given it a 5 star rating if I didn’t have to mess around with trying to disengage the clutch lock which is very difficult when not installed on the chain saw.
