This is a nice little handy tool to have around the shop. It is well made and I love that it uses a carbide blade that you can just rotate if you end up getting a chip or it gets dull.

This was supposed to be the entire chamfer tool, but upon opening the package, there were only 2 replacement blades and screws inside the box.

Nice little plane to chamfer corners and clean up edges. Its a lot quicker than pulling out my power plane, its a time saver when cutting a lot of pieces to prep for painting. Comes with a lifetime supply of blades.

This is a handy little chamfering plane. It's small enough to fit in my tool apron while I'm working around the shop and does a good job trimming the edges of boards. I usually sand the edges of my boards a little bit round both for safety, ie, no splinters and also for durability. This little plane uses a carbide cutter that are very easy to find so you can replace it as needed. However, you get four edges with each cutter, so I don't know how soon I'll have to replace it. Overall, I'm very pleased with this chamfering plane.

This type of design is the future of woodworking tools! Nothing to adjust or sharpen, just a precision machined tool body with disposable carbide insert that can be rotated and replaced quickly and easily with a single tool. The only improvement I can see is if they were able to retain the carbide insert without needing any tools to rotate or replace it.

Every now and then you need to take the sharp edge off of your woodworking project, if only to prevent splinters. I usually use a 1/16 or 1/8 round over bit. This tool offers the potential to do it without setup time and effort. The carbide inserts offer the hope of never having to sharpen a plane again. But the bits are narrow, only a little over 1/2 inch wide, and that means that you can't use the tool quite the way you would a block plane to complete the task. You not only need to keep the blade angle correct (as with any plane). You need to keep the chamfer you are working on centered on the insert. I had quite a few skips where the corner slid off the insert. It is pretty difficult to go back and clean up these skips. You can not adjust depth of cut. You can get a decent quality hand plane for only 9 dollars more (Stanley) to get a lot more versatility and adjustability. One the positive side, the tool itself appears to be well made. Will I ever have to sharpen it? No, because I do no think I will use it much.
