This firebox definitely limits airflow to your coals, I ended up drilling some additional holes to make it breathe. But come out the next day and dump ashes in a quick minute, 👍👍

I found use for this in a Dyna-Glo vertical smoker and it fits and works great! Really love the design and how easy it is to remove the ashes from the charcoal. Price assigned to the product is reasonable and shipping time was great!

I have the Oklahoma Joe Judge, and I can confirm that this fits in both the sideways and lengthwise positions. It does limit how far you can bring up the charcoal tray though, but for the smoking application, that is not really an issue. Its just a welded alloy steel box with cut-outs for handles on each end, and a porcelain coated mesh basket that hangs within. The bottom of the basket is U shaped which allows two channels beneath the coals to aid in air flow. Yes this basket allows for air flow and easy separation of remaining coals and ashes, but I do wish they would have caped the ends of the basket to prevent anything from rolling out the sides during transfer. I can also see that there would have been some benefit to offering a cover for this with dampers, but I understand that may be asking a lot. Overall construction is decent, solid, but nothing to write home about. I've used this a handful of times now, but primarily to have a hot box of coals that lasts a while for a lot of prolonged cooking, rather than for smoking specifically. It definitely seems like a solid 4 star item though.
