been using this for a few months now. finally decided to get on the air fryer train. had heard from numerous people about how this basically replaced their oven and/or microwave. decided to get one so i could cook a whole chicken, tho i have yet to do that, but will. i've mainly used it on simple things ... fries, waffle fried, tater tots, chicken nugs & tenders, raw chicken wings/drumettes, pot stickers & dumplings, etc. i love that it gives foods that more crispy texture like u would get in a fryer but w/out all the grease & excessive clean-up. i will say tho that it has not revolutionized my cooking routine. it is just another option. i do like that it is quicker than an oven, but not life-changing quicker. the one critique i have is this this design the grated tray that goes on the bottom is so tightly fitted i can hear it scraping against the sides of the main fryer pot when i insert &/or remove & eventually this will lead to scratches. i cook for myself mostly & while i like the size, i kind of wish i had bought one that had 2 cooking chambers to do 2 things simultaneously. i do love that it is a compact space-saving design. i have a small kitchen w/minimal counter space & have been able to fit it into my cooking routine w/out any major disruptions. i do recommend but i also recommend shopping around ... so many versions of this out there now.

This is my first air fryer and I use it almost everyday. It's very easy to operate. I know there are other air fryers on the market that go for higher prices and I imagine they're nice as well. I got this one because it was at a discounted price and I wasn't sure if I'd find use for it very often. But now I've begun making homemade potato wedges as a snack and experimenting with different spices.A few things to point out. The instructions recommend unplugging the unit when it's not in use. This is actually fairly sound advice for any appliance as there is a thing in electronics called "vampire energy" or "phantom energy". They say that unused electronics in standby mode "DVD players, stereos, etc." can account for up to 20% in a home electricity bill.Another thing that other reviewers have pointed out are the little rubber pieces on the grill insert. They do indeed come off. I'd recommend hand washing the grill and just keeping in mind not to push off the rubber pieces. As for the grill itself, I've read others complaining about not knowing how to insert it. This is actually understandable as it's a pretty tight fit the first time due to the shape of the design. The way I ended up remembering is by placing the quart bucket with the handle facing directly towards me (or directly away). From this position the grill goes in with the large center gaps looking like a figure 8. You'll probably have to force it in a bit the first time but it gets easier after you do some cooking with it. I'm guessing this is due to the rubber pieces shrinking ever so slightly from the heat exposure.I've had to experiment with temperatures and times for what I've cooked so far, mainly just potato stuff like french fries and tater tots. There are presets for those things that seem to be fairly accurate. But depending on how crispy you like things, you might want to use your own settings. This was a great budget purchase for me. I was a little reluctant on purchasing an air fryer but it ended up being a useful appliance for making homemade snacks.
