I'm so glad this exists! I have 3 chickens who are missing feathers from getting pecked by the other chickens. These are a lifesaver! They were easy to put on with some assistance from someone holding the chicken. You just slip it over their head and then undo the velcro strap, place the section under the wing and loop the velcro onto the plastic loop. So far they've kept them on. They didn't seem to struggle at all wearing them. My chickens vary in size and these were great for adjusting the sizes to fit each chicken. I'm glad I found these to let them recover their lost feathers without being pecked.

Some of my chickens have been looking a little worse for wear these days. Sadly, when a chicken becomes a rooster's favorite date, she is going to lose some feathers and take a bit of a beating. A saddle is an effective means of protecting her back while still letting her get on with her life as a member of the flock.These saddles are of good quality and once you figure out how they go on a bird, they aren't too big a deal to put on. Once of the best features of the saddle is how strong the Velcro is. Once you press the pieces together, it is VERY difficult to get apart. There is no way that this is going to work loose on its own.After wearing one of these saddles for a few weeks, I took it off the chicken and her feathers had all started growing back. This was a great way to keep her with the flock while letting her heal up.

My ladies definitely need saddles and these work perfectly for a full size chicken. I’ve used a few of them already dry and they’re super easy to put on and seem more durable than the button ones. The ladies seem comfortable with them on.

You need at least 10 hens per rooster in order to keep them from over-mating. When over mated with, a hen can get wounds, which can be life threatening if infect. These aprons work great to protect your hens -- either as a preventative to over-mating, or as a way to help a wound heal.

These chicken saddles are super cute—the design pattern is adorable and looks great on the hens! The straps are thoughtfully designed, and I really appreciate that the velcro is on the underside to help keep curious chickens from yanking it off. The size was okay overall, but a little too big for my smaller Ameraucana girls. One of them kept sticking her leg up through the neck hole, so I ended up getting a smaller saddle just for her. That said, when the fit is right, these saddles work incredibly well. They’ve been a big help in protecting my hens from overzealous roosters and general pecking order drama. Definitely a good investment for flock care!

I am giving these a 5 start rating even though my chicks are way too small to try them on! I can tell the material is a good quality and will be easy to clean. The Velcro is strong and will allow me to start using them as soon as they are needed and grow with them as they mature. I am trying to learn all there is about raising chickens. I didn't know I would need these but am so glad I found out about them and am very happy to have them on hand.
