I burn A LOT of fires in our fireplace each Winter.Since my kid-hood; a roaring fire in the fireplace has been a seasonal pleasure.I would not own a house without a fireplace.Consequently; I engage in regular fireplace maintenance, at the beginning, during, and end of each 'burning season'.I have used assorted 'chemical logs' to cut-down on creosote build-up.They are the best basic preventative measure that anyone can take for preventing an uncontrollable chimney fire. This brand has a unique design among the ones I have tried. The inner core 'Fire Starter' is a smart idea, ensuring rapid combustion and uniform incineration of the log.(Others I have tried had a tendency to only partially burn, leaving me wondering if I was getting my money`s worth.)I cannot say precisely how much, or even how well this worked, as I did not go poking my head up the chimney first.I CAN say that I noted the tell-tale brittle, caked creosote remains that denote a CSL chimney cleaning log working. If you burn fires in your fireplace; Keep these on hand!

Safety first and really easy to use. You'll want to get a good fire going before you use this. I won't know how well this works until I get my annual chimney cleaning but it at least fits well and easy to burn in the fireplace. Will update after teh summer cleaning with results.

They look good and are a decent size. I was less than pleased when one arrived broken in half and a blue powder was spilled everywhere in the box it came in and the shipping box. I did throw one in the fireplace and it got incredibly hot. Seemed to work as expected, just didn't like the weird blue powder everywhere.

After burning one of these chimney cleaning logs in our fireplace, I noticed a significant amount of thick smoke – definitely more than when we usually have a fire. It's hard to say for sure how effective it was at clearing out creosote, but it certainly did produce a lot of smoke while burning.

This is a tough item to review. These types of logs are supposed to keep the creosote from building up in the chimney, but it doesn't work immediately. It works over the course of many years of using. So yes, these things burn well, but I don't know if they actually work because it takes time to see results. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they do indeed work, but if I notice the creosote building up after the first year of use, I will update this review.

So after 3 years of using a fireplace without any maintenance at all, I decided to order these cleaning sticks because I just assumed it was time to use it on our fireplace. I have to say after using two of these I truly cannot tell if anything was accomplished. I am going to assume that they did the job. To me it seemed like there was a lot of smoke coming out of the smoke stack, but I really cannot tell if that is just something that is in the stick, or if it is a good sign and whether it means it cleaned things out so well that it created that much more smoke due to being cleaned. I really don't know, but I hope it worked out. Unfortunately there was nothing specific that tells us what it does, or what we need to expect here. A nice product with absolutely no guidance.

This is for the Review of Chimney Cleaning Logs for Fireplace, Creosote Logs for Fireplace Cleaning, Creosote Remover, Soot Clean Fire Logs for Indoor Fireplace, Fireplace Cleaner Creosote Sweeping Log for Fireplace, Pack of 6At the time of reviewing this , its 49.95 For 6 Logs . which is 8$ roughly each which is a good price . they are much smaller then brand i use from the local store . lost a star since mine came damaged in shipping one of the logs cracked inhalf and the Powder inside went all over the box it comes in and the Amazon box also . so that one i expect wont work to clean my fireplace . i Do like the fire starters on both ends , is how they keep the Special powder inside it seems since i could examine the broken log .For how well they work i cant tell really since im not going exploring inside my fireplace . so i normally use a log a week if i keep a fire going each day when its cold so ill find out in a month if they work well or not .i Recommend this item

I use a wood heating stove almost daily and am interested in all things pertinent so I ordered these because why not?I've used two of them about three days apart but I have no way of knowing right now what if any effect they have on the state of my chimney. The output from my stove enters into what was formerly the brick surround of a fireplace. The connection is a section of 6 inch stove pipe that connects to a 6 inch stainless steel pipe running 20 feet or more to the top of the chimney. I have no visibility to the innards of the closed system and won't until the next time I clean the chimney. My stove burns very cleanly and doesn't really require being cleaned annually. This will be a year for cleaning so once I can judge the condition of things I will comeback to update this review.
