This is fundamentally the same as a cookie press and if you have one, you could use it to make churros as well. The included dies function reasonably well though the churro dough (from the included recipe) does not stick together and the resulting churros come apart like red vines. They are tasty, though.

This churro maker is simple to use and produces well-shaped churros. The set includes three pieces, making it convenient for different sizes and designs. The plastic material is sturdy, but the churros may require some extra effort to shape evenly. A fun addition to any kitchen for homemade churros.

The function of this tool reminds me of a caulk gun. It ratchets a plunger with a trigger to push dough out the die end. Kinda fun to use, but a little difficult to make longer churros between pumps. We looked up a few generic churro recipes, which all looked to be about the same so we just picked one at random. Turned out great with nothing special/extra for this device. After seeing some negative reviews, it seems to come down to getting the dough to an appropriate thickness. If you’re trying to mash clay through this device, of course it will break. The goal should be somewhere around toothpaste or frosting consistency: runny but can hold its shape. It’s not a pressure vessel. My little ones had been craving churros since we had some at Disney, so this was a great throwback to that vacation moment. For the cost of a value meal, this was an amazing value for my family. I would have found double the price reasonable, but then a tougher sale for a uni-tasker.

Absolute junk! The kit comes with a dough gun, three dies, and a churro recipe on the back of the box. It’s very cheaply made and broke when I was testing it (the metal tube screws in to the gun and it popped its threads under pressure. Didn’t work after that.) As other reviewers noted, the piston is hard to insert into the tube and the dies aren't designed to make churros. I first made a batch of cookies and you can see the dismal results in the photo. With a good cookie gun, you simply press the gun to the sheet and squirt out a cookie. With this one, you have to hover the gun a quarter inch above the sheet, which is awkward. I made churro dough according to the recipe, and you can see the extruded results (I used two different dies.) With both, instead of a churro, I got loose ribbons. And, ironically, it was the stiff churro dough, using their recipe, that broke the gun! Cleaning was easy; I threw the whole thing in the garbage!

There's not much to say about this thing. It's neither outstanding nor terrible. It does exactly what it says it will do. I was able to make churros for the family and we all enjoyed them. The different patterns are neat, but otherwise, It's a basic dispenser that feels a lot like a caulk gun. I would get it again though because it is handy to have.

This one depends I guess on what you're trying to use it for. In terms of ease of use and cleaning it's pretty good. Dissassembly and assembly is simple and straightforward and everything comes apart in a way that makes a thorough cleaning easy enough to accomplish. Unfortunately it does have one major flaw, in my use while trying to use this for cookies, with a semi-firm sort of dough, sometimes when I squeezed the trigger, the entire black section on the back that connects to the handle would just pop off from the tube and I'd have to reconnect them and try again, so that is definitely not ideal and screams of low quality manufacture, which is probably about what you expect at this $10 dollar price point. So probably best to use this one for softer doughs, but that is really my only complaint about it, other than that it's cost effective and accomplishes it's purpose. The dies it comes with work well enough and allow for some variation so that is also nice.

- My experience was similar to what others have said—this is more of a cookie press than a true churro maker.- It’s not made from very sturdy materials and didn’t perform well.- My first batch of batter was medium thick, but it didn’t hold the churro shape at all.- I made a second, stiffer batch, and still had the same issue—this just isn’t designed to make real churros.- Construction feels too low quality to last more than a few uses.- I’m sorry, but I really can’t recommend this as a churro maker... maybe just use it as a cookie press?
