The listing was a little unclear on what to expect these to fit. I occasionally do industrial work, and I was looking for a lockout to fit residential breakers and the bigger industrial style. It turns out that these are definitely designed for the big industrial breakers, but they do work on my Square D residential breaker box as well. They only fit the single pole breakers. The build quality is definitely okay. Overall they seem pretty good, and the piece that bites onto the breaker is metal. I'm a little concerned about the hinge though, it's just a thin piece of plastic, and I think it might break in the not-too-distant future. For the price, though, it's a great set of lockout devices to keep in your arsenal!

I am an electrician. That said, These are exactly what is needed to provide a lock for LOTO functions . Please note that these typically will require a lock to function properly. This means these are the "device" for use with a LOTO padlock that is needed to lock out a panel Breaker for power disconnect. The purpose of these devices is to provide a custom means for for anyone using de-energized equipment. This "device" is used for switch breakers of various manufacturers. Ideally the person "Locking and Tagging OUT the disconnecting means uses a custom keyed lock and this device to secure protection on a deenergized circuit. This way they can safely work on the circuit without fear of being electrocuted. This "device" is a part of the required means for OSHA LOTO Compliance. These came packaged in a bag and a red as in the picture. These do not come with keys. A separate lock is needed. Note these are not security locks. They are simple indoor locks to provide a notification and means to stop accidental energizing of "In service" locks. These can be used as a deterrent for quick theft but wont stop a hammer or a set of bolt cutters. They seem have an opening for smaller hasps and should be compliant under OSHA inspection for Single purpose keyed breaker devices. As noted ... you will need a companion lock for your application.

I was excited to get these as I was planning on using them for work. However, they don’t fit any of the electric panels I’ve tried them on. I have tried them on Residential and Commercial Breaker Panels. Square D, Siemens, Cutler Hammer. From the video that is shown with the item description I think these would be good breaker locks for an industrial type setting but they did not fill my need for mainly residential circuit breaker panels. They are well made and locks fit securely on them. The way the breaker lock fits onto a breaker is easy to figure out and had I tried to use them on the correct brand/type of circuit breaker panel I believe they would have worked.I don’t believe it’s a problem with the quality of this product, I think that the item description needs adjusted to let buyers know what brands/model of panels these fit.

Simple design and well made at a good price point, these are a smart buy. Lockouts should be in every service techs arsenal, and at this price there’s no good reason not to get them!
