I'm an amateur carpenter but I do a fair amount of construction projects. Carrying around my drill driver has always been a real pain. I looked hard for one that I thought would work. Holsters can be bad and not work very well. I thought this one might. It didn't I don't use it. It's well made and sturdy. Just not what I wanted.

I work at General Motors and needed something I could hang my drill on and be able to access it quickly and put back quickly we build a truck every 53 seconds so being fast is essential but so is being able to move the hook out the way on jobs I don’t need it so I’m not scratching the truck and having a rubber end on the hook for the same reason when I’m use this fit all the marks and most of all it’s reliable! I use it with large and medium size drills and it works well with all of them! 10/10 would recommend!

Use this for hanging cordless tools while working, locks into place tools rest/secure good. Folds out of the way when not in use however does not lock in that position. Would like if it locked in both open and stowed positions. Otherwise great for the money as a DIY guy would recommend and purchase again.

Good for holding an impact. Not so much for a sawzall or drill, they are too heavy. But it does the job.

I love this. Easy to hook the drill in, simple, inexpensive, does the job. This is no big deal... one con: the hook locks in the 'ready' position but can also be lifted up and swiveled flat against the body. Sometimes it gets bumped and ends up in the flat position when I need it out but it doesn't happen often and is not a big drawback.

I've tried all of the clips that drill manufacturers provide. I've purchase expensive leather holsters. I've tried all manner of high-tech tool belts and there just isn't anything as logical, dependable or functional as this simple gadget. It has notches so that it stays agains the belt when its not in use and one to keep it out at 90 degrees from the belt when you need to grab and hook your drill. Certainly heavy enough to hold about any weight of cordless drill. I am astonished that drill makers don't just provide this very unit automatically. I've used the heck out of mine & it still looks brand new. It keeps its finish. Highly recommended.

A couple of quick notes for the casual observer:THE GOOD.1. The hook folds to the side when not in use. It is a little locking mechanism so the hook does not flop around.2. There is a belt loop and a belt clip on the back. It can be threaded onto a belt or just clipped on and off. I actually use both as my belt is nylon webbing separated from a velcroed foam padding support. Thread the belt through and clip it to the padding. Super secure.THE NOT-SO-GOOD.1. It's called "Leathercraft," but the item is nylon.2. I would have liked a magnetic section for bits and screws. I suppose I could just add that myself.3. The belt loop hole is a little small for my belt buckle to fit through. (It's a nylon belt with a quick clasp, so it's the same size on both ends.) I had to really wiggle and finesse it on there. I guess that means it won't fall off easily.THE BAD.There isn't really anything that's bad for the price. I used it, it worked. It cost less than $6.

I've got a BIG holster for an 18-volt cordless drill but it's cumbersome and basically overkill. This great little hook is all that's needed for the drill, my nail gun and any other tool you'd find on a construction site capable of hanging on a hook. The mounting pad is heavy, stiff cloth and seems to be well sewn. The belt loop would easily accommodate a 2-1/2" belt but as noted by someone else the advertised 2-3/4" opening would be a really tight fit for such a belt. However, a belt clip-on riveted on the back slides easily down on a belt of any width. I use that clip and don't bother with threading a belt through the loop. It works fine with that heavy drill or nail gun.The hook itself quickly folds out of the way forward or backward with a flick of the fingers. It drops into a shallow retaining slot forward or backward and a deeper slot when positioned outward for use.All in all, this is a must-have tool holder worth every dime of its reasonable price.
