Horrible. Only one out of 4 worked. One of the gels looked like there was hardened gel inside. The metal disc inside for most of the packs were way too hard to snap. I bought these for my mom and she isn’t that strong. I have regular human strength and I was struggling to snap three of these gel packets. I’m returning these. This is really stupid. Honestly if you see us review for how much it cost it’s just not worth bothering to buy this waiting for it to arrive wasting gas in the delivery trucks and the Packaging material just to learn that these gel packets don’t work and maybe one out of the form will actually work the one that did work did what we expected it to do, but the fact that one out of four of the item did not work is so disappointing. What a waste of All of these products really this item should be discontinued. Stop creating landfill trash.

These things are incredible!!! You have to boil them to reset them after use!

I bought several sets of these to use in a variety of places. My hands get cold working at my keyboard near a window in the winter. I can "snap" one of these to activate it, and trade it back and forth from hand to hand to warm up a bit. I have left several sets in my car with my emergency supplies. I also put several sets in the changing room of our unelectrified cabin in the Catskills. When we first arrive in the winter, it takes several hours for the wood stove to really heat the place up. These little packs are nice to have in a pocket while we are waiting.I think these use sodium acetate as the heating agent. Each pack lasts about an hour, and hardens after use because the liquid solution inside crystallizes as it cools, turning into a solid gel-like state. To reactivate them, you need to place them in boiling water to dissolve the crystals back into a liquid form again. There is a little metal disc inside each pack. To activate the pack, you "snap" the disc through the cover and the liquid. The disc acts as a nucleation site, triggering the crystallization process when pressed. The crystallization releases heat.We have some rechargeable electric hand warmers but for some purposes I like the low-tech nature of these. I don't ever have to worry about the battery dying.

Haven’t used this brand yet but wanted to clarify how many it comes with - quantity 4 hand warmers. I felt the pictures were misleading (or maybe just wishful thinking on my part) that there were more than 4 included. Either way reusable hand warmers are great and I’m glad to have more for our collection!

When I first got these I noticed one was already activated and hardened. When I reset them each time, I notice one of two of them just activates on their own without me having to snap the discs. A bit of a nuisance, but still happy I have them. The designs are cute, and fits right in the palm of my hands. I reset them a lot because my office gets chilly and I like to have them ready at my desk when I need them.

I bought two different brands of reusable heat packs in anticipate of a recent winter trip. Of the two, this set had smaller packs. The size coupled with the design meant that kids gravitated towards these ones. The adults tended to think they were too small. So I guess it depends on your use. The packs have a chemical smell which I have found to happen with all reusable heat packs.

These hand warmers work instantly and provide about an hour of warmth before cooling down. I was impressed at how quickly they activate and how hot they become. Turning them back into liquid form was a bit of a learning curve, but now that I know it's simple. First, I tried boiling it without being wrapped in a cloth (the instructions recommend wrapping in cloth), and it didn't work very well - they looked 'melted' but once dried were still partially gel/crystal. Next, I followed the instructions and place two in boiling water, wrapped in one cloth. One of the hand warmers 'melted' back to a reuseable state, but the second one didn't.I've gathered from this, you'll need to boil them one at a time or make sure to give extra time if doing multiple. You can tell it's ready again by watching the silver clicking mechanism and how quickly it falls. If it's got any slowness to it, you're still in a 'gel' state and it isn't ready. Only when the silver clicker falls effortlessly as if in water will you know it's fully 'melted' and ready to use again. These were taken on a plane, and we activated them the night before so they could go through TSA without being considered a gel/liquid. They went through carry-on luggage without a problem.
