Overall pretty good. Easy enough to use. Sometimes older/stiffer ropes move pretty slowly through it.

I really like this device. It feeds really smooth. When lowering a person you have a ton of control. It bites really hard when someone falls. All in all works just how it should.

Way too much friction when used with rope at the upper end of it's range. Could barely rappel myself out of a palm tree with 10mm rope.

I can't use a grigri as left-handed. This was a welcome alternative. After using both this and the clickup1, I don't think this adds much. I've tried on a few rope thicknesses on indoor and outdoor sport free-climbs.It will take time until you can give out slack comfortably; it's not the same action as an ATC. If the lead climber yanks the rope when clipping it will engage the system, and generally a panicked lead climber will yank it again after you've released the system but before you can feed; you need to tell your climber not to do this.IMO if you're still using an un-assisted ATC throw it away before you kill someone. No reason not to use a grigri, click-up, or the mammut smart.

SO SMOOTHI've used a Grigri, a Vergo (by Trango), ATCs, and now finally a Click Up +. It is by far the smoothest operating device I've used in terms of giving slack and in lowering.Like with any belay device, a little practice is needed to achieve optimum operating efficiency, but this can be done quickly and easily in as little as 10 min.Build quality is extremely high, everything feels well made out of good material, does not scratch super easy.If I have any problems at all with this device I'll update the review. So far, 10/10 would buy again.
